I currently work as an editor for a shonen manga studio. It's a decent job don't get me wrong. The people I work with are just as decent as the monthly pay I receive. I've been working there for a year and I've moved out of my parents home.

I decided that I was old enough to take up responsibility and look after myself even though my mother visits me nearly every weekend.

As her son I think she feels like I haven't been myself for the past couple of months.

I've been a mess since highschool and I've developed a bad habit of drinking.
Smoking occasionally when the days were rougher than usual was a part of my routine now.

These were the things that comforted me now.

I'd like to say I had forgotten about what had occurred between me and Bokuto but that would be a lie

I'd like to say I had forgotten about what had occurred between me and Bokuto but that would be a lie. He still wonders around in my mind but I've grown to adapt without him.

It's hard.

I've seen him on television occasionally, his team seems to treat him well and he seems happy. I'm guessing he's still with the girl he had told me about back in highschool.
He's got a bright future ahead of him but I feel like I'm not getting anywhere. I'm still stuck in the same circle.

Why can't I be happy like Bokuto-san.

My apartment was one of the few that were on the last floor. Luckily the building had an operating elevator that I used religiously. I was on the 15th floor so using the stairs wasn't much of an option for me. The view outside was always beautiful. I liked peering through looking at the different people who crossed by each day and night wondering what their lives must be like and where they might be headed to.

It brought me a sense of tranquility knowing I wasn't the only individual who had hard day's.

Sitting in my white duvet I decided to open a can of beer that had layed cold in my freezer. The sound of the fizz as I popped it open covered the sound from the television as I sat and watched another sob story.
The night was dark and the only light that seeped through my sheer curtains were the street lights and those from apartments that were opposite from me.

I think I had drifted off to sleep at some point since I don't remember switching the TV off or switching my lamp off.

"Knock knock"

"Knock knock".

Was I dreaming? At this time of night why could I hear knocks coming from my apartment door. Could it be the neighbors door that I could potentially hear as it was a quiet night. I drifted off to sleep again switching the lamp off. Just as my eyelids closed I heard another knock.

This time more vigorously.

I was a bit more concerned this time as it definitely was coming from my apartment door. Lifting my limp body to reach the lamp again I turned it on and lifted off the covers. My eyesight was a blur, I was struggling to see the shape of the room so I picked up my glasses and put them on. The floor was cold.

I could see the dim light from the corridor underneath the apartment door however a dark shadow blocked the light preventing it from entering the room.

"Mom?"

Silence.

"Hello?"

There was silence.
No sounds no movement. As confusing as it was, there was definitely someone stood Infront of my door. The knocking started again.

I was wearing a white oversized shirt with a pair of black shorts. I was starting to get cold from standing at the door listening to whoever might be there. I reached out towards the peephole and lifted the hatch to look.
