"Are you completely out of your mind?", I heard someone say from my dorm room and realized that the voice belonged to Lia. "Do you know what time it is? Why are you yelling like that?"
"I'm sorry, Lia. I didn't think about everyone being asleep already but it was just so frustrating with Malfoy," I apologized to her. She rubbed her eyes and sat up straight in her bed, tapping her hand on the bed beside herself, whereupon I joined her.
"Have you been with Malfoy for that long? It's even past curfew. Didn't anyone catch you guys when you were in the hallways?", Lia asked me. At least she wasn't mad anymore but curious. Maybe that wasn't always better but at the moment I much preferred it.
"Yeah the tutoring took forever but at least my essay is done now and as much as Malfoy has improved it should be pretty good," I whispered back and looked to Pansy and Millicent to see if they were actually sleeping. I didn't want them to hear everything because Pansy made a drama out of everything. Especially when it came to her beloved Draco.
"And did you realize now that it's already past curfew? You've been gone forever," Lia huffed, and I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
"Since when do you mind being out after curfew?", I wondered, because actually she never cared. Sometimes she wasn't back even that late.
"Well, seems like you enjoyed your time with Malfoy. After all, you spent hours with him." When Lia said that, I wondered what got into her.
"What's that supposed to mean?", I bitched at her with an uncomprehending look.
"Just saying." she said, playing with her fingers instead of looking at me.
"But because you're so interested, it was almost unbearable with him. He asked me a million questions and just made me look stupid," I huffed at Lia and laid down in my bed. What was her problem with me all of a sudden?
The next morning I was the first one awake. I decided to let Lia sleep and hoped that she would behave normally again today after what she had pulled off yesterday. I didn't understand her behavior until now.
Since it was Saturday, I could finally wear something other than my school uniform, so I decided to wear something comfortable. I didn't feel like squeezing into jeans and a cute top, so I just put on some sweatpants and a top from my brother. I stole it from him before I had to leave Durmstrang for Hogwarts and it was about ten sizes too big for me but I didn't care. I actually quite liked it, especially because it reminded me of my brother. As I put on my shoes and looked at myself in the mirror, I grinned. When I walked around Beauxbatons like this, everyone looked at me with disdainful glances, though secretly they were probably just jealous that they weren't wearing comfortable clothes.
As I was tying my blonde hair into a ponytail, I noticed Lia waking up.
"Hey Anna, are you waiting for me? Then we can go have breakfast together." Actually, I would have liked to be by myself for once today, since I didn't really feel like going out with Lia after yesterday but I didn't want a fight between us so I agreed with her. It didn't take long until she was ready and we went off to the big hall. Since we didn't wait for David and Lia didn't say anything about him, I assumed that he would go to breakfast with others later. After all, it was still pretty early for a Saturday.
As we sat down at the Slytherin table, dishes and food appeared in front of us and we grabbed something as Lia asked me, "Did you actually get all your homework done for next week after you finished your Potions essay yesterday?"
"Yeah, do you need to do anything else?", I asked as well to keep our little conversation going. I was just glad she didn't ask me about Malfoy again.
"I still have to finish the essay," she groaned, "And for transformation, I have to keep practicing the spell from McGonagall. Somehow I'm not getting it right yet."
"I can help you if you want. I already know it perfectly," I offered Lia but she declined with thanks.
"I already promised David that we would study together today. We were going to meet after lunch and if you needed to do anything else you were welcome to study with us but I guess that's not necessary since you're already done with everything. And I'm not surprised that you already know the transformation spell. You're better at transformation than some who have their OWL ahead of them. Besides, you can do things in transformation that we don't even learn here. I'm surprised you're not an animagus," she added with a laugh, and I had to grin.
Lia and I still spent the morning together and I had to admit that I was looking forward to my time alone in the afternoon. I had no problem with Lia or other people but I actually enjoy spending time on my own. Some might say that I am a bit of a loner but that didn't bother me. I'd rather be that way than dependent on others.
The morning was quite fun though. Lia and I went looking for Eva to help her with her hair. When we found her, she was incredibly happy to see us and hugged us in greeting.
"Anna, please tell me you can help me fix that. I don't want to walk around with my short and torched hair anymore." she said, looking at me with a pleading expression on her face. Lia just had to laugh.
"Are you sure about this, Eva? I actually think short hair looks really good on you," I remarked but she just shook her head. "Then I'll look almost exactly like Aurelia and I don't want that."
The moment Eva said that, Lia immediately stopped laughing and gave her an evil look, which made me laugh. Sibling love.
"Ok Eva, now don't move.", I ordered her, holding my wand in her direction and after that recited the spell, "Crinus Muto." After that, Eva's hair started to grow until it reached her waist, meanwhile turning from brown to a deep black. Lia's mouth dropped open and Eva stole a mirror from another Ravenclaw in the Great Hall.
"Anna, that looks amazing! That's exactly how I wanted it to look. Thank you.", Eva said before hugging me again and disappearing to show her friends right away. She reminded me a little bit of Emily, she was also always enthusiastic about everything and at the thought of it I had to grin.
But Lia brought me out of my thoughts. "Anna, you need to change my hair too! I already have an idea." She wiggled her eyebrows as she said this and the corners of her mouth pulled up into a grin. She explained to me that she would like dark green hair tips, thinking it would go well with her dark hair and Slytherin clothes. After she asked me if it was possible to do that and I said yes, I immediately enchanted her hair.
"Lia, that looks fucking wicked! I'm sure David will love it!", I teased her and she blushed a little. As she looked at herself, however, she was distracted from David and was completely enthralled. She reacted almost the same way as Eva, only without the hug.
Afterwards, we went to the bell tower in the courtyard and found a nice spot. There we spent the rest of the morning talking about all sorts of things.
Time flew by and we met David for lunch. When we were done with that, I was already looking forward to the afternoon. Finally some me-time.
A/N: I would really appreciate feedback on what you like and don't like so I can improve the story and my writing style :) What do you guys think of Lia's new hair? Have you guys ever dyed your hair? :)
