"I told you we should have turned up ahead there already Sarah! I'm going to miss the train, what am I going to do?", I shouted nervously in the car.

"I haven't been here in years Anna, stop screaming at me!" she yelled back, "Up ahead we have to turn left, then we'll be there. I'm sure of it." I didn't know if she was trying to reassure me or herself with that. But luckily she was right.

We got all my stuff out of the trunk of the car and ran to the train station. The Hogwarts Express would be leaving in ten minutes and I just couldn't miss it. Especially not in my first year at this school.

"Where the hell is platform 9 ¾ supposed to be? What kind of sick joke is that?", I snorted. "I was always here when your mom went to Hogwarts. I know where we need to go. Just follow me.", Sarah said, trying to calm me down, "You just have to run through this pillar. Unfortunately I can't come with you because well, you know."

"You've got to be kidding me," I said incredulously. "Now go on Anna! You have five minutes left and you need to get your stuff on the train!" - "But we still have time for a quick goodbye, right?" - "Of course little one. I love you and have fun at Hogwarts." - "I love you too, Sarah." We hugged goodbye before I ran towards the pillar.

Up until the time I stood on platform 9 ¾ and saw the Hogwarts Express, I was still afraid of breaking my nose on that damn pillar. Not having much time to look around, I ran as fast as I could to one of the train doors, threw my stuff in and jumped in after it. I was relieved to have made it and took a deep breath. At that moment, the doors closed as well. 'Lucky again,' I thought to myself. How embarrassing it would have been to miss the train on my first day. I wouldn't have known how to get to Hogwarts then.

I grabbed my things and started walking through the corridors of the train. In every compartment I looked into, all seats were already taken or I was looked at so unfriendly that I didn't even want to ask if there was still room. In a compartment in which only three students and an older man sat, even the curtain of the door was pulled close when I wanted to knock. Rude.

After some time I gave up and just sat on my suitcase in the corridor. A few minutes later, a witch came up to me with a cart full of candy. "You're sitting in my way. Why don't you have a seat in a compartment?" she asked me, not expecting an answer, "Get out of the way with your stuff. Please." I rolled my eyes and moved my things so the witch could pass me with her cart.

A short time later a girl with dark hair walked past me, "Why are you sitting here on the floor?" - "I couldn't find a seat in a compartment and eventually gave up," I sighed. "Then come with me, there's still a seat for you in ours," she answered me kindly. I was happy about that and smiled at her, "Thank you! You are my saviour. What's your name by the way?" - "Aurelia Johnson but just call me Lia, everyone does. What about you? What's your name?" she asked curiously. "Anna Moore.", I replied to her and sat down in the compartment with her.

"Hey guys, this is Anna. Anna, this is Eva and this is David," Lia introduced me, pointing at them. "Hey," I smiled and waved. 'Why am I waving so stupidly?', I asked myself. I quickly put my arm back down and just smiled. Then I stowed my stuff and sat down next to Lia, across from David.

"I don't think I've seen you here before. Which house are you in?" he asked with his eyebrows drawn together. You could tell he was thinking about it from the first moment as puzzled as he kept looking. "I don't know yet, I'm new here." I had gotten a little nervous when he asked me that. I don't know why tho. My mom was also at Hogwarts and had told me about the different houses. She was a Ravenclaw. However, I didn't really understand the whole house thing. Where's the sense in that? There was no such thing in Beauxbaton or Durmstrang. Maybe it's the competition between the houses that spurs the students on, I thought, realizing how my mind was somewhere else.

Apparently, I had also missed a question from the others, because everyone was looking at me expectantly. "Earth to Anna. Hello?", I heard Eva say and realized she was waving her hands in front of my face. "I'm sorry, what did you say?", I asked awkwardly.

"I asked if it was your first year at Hogwarts. Because you honestly look a little older than the other first years," David repeated his question. "That's because I'm not one," I smiled, "I'm a third year but this is my very first time at Hogwarts. What about you guys?"

Lia answered me, "Perfect, we're third years too. So David and I are. Also, we're both in Slytherin. Eva is my little sister and a second year. She's a Ravenclaw, although I don't know how she made it to the smart people." Eva shot a glare at her sister, causing the rest of us to start laughing.

I got curious, "I don't want to be rude now but why don't you sit with your friends but rather let your sister torment you, Eva?" - "Oh, because of dear Lia we got here late. She is lucky that David had a compartment occupied. My friends and I couldn't find a free one so we had to split up and that's how I ended up here," she explained to me.

The rest of the ride to Hogwarts we laughed a lot together and I was glad to have found some people with whom I get along well. Hopefully we can continue to be friends at Hogwarts.

When we arrived, we parted ways as I was taken across the lake to school with all the first years while the others went by carriage. I was already nervous about which house I would end up in.

A/N: How did you like the first chapter and which house do you think Anna will end up in? Feel free to leave a comment and your own ideas. :)
I imagine Aurelia like the picture in the beginning. What does she look like in your imagination and what do you think David looks like?
