The last few days at Hogwarts passed and I actually expected my last big event of my third year to be detention at Snape's with Malfoy. However, I was sorely mistaken when one evening we were told by our prefects to all go to the Great Hall in a quiet and orderly manner. We were to put on our sleeping clothes and take sleeping bags with us so that we could spend the night there. The sleeping bags for this had suddenly appeared on the chests in front of our beds and they were so huge that two people could easily fit in them. Or maybe even Hagrid.

No one really knew what was going on, so there were a lot of confused faces when you looked around in the crowd, but the rumour that circulated the most was that Sirius Black must be on the school grounds. I myself thought that was the most logical too, especially after what my parents hinted at. Besides, I was getting more and more messages from them telling me to look out for myself. None of this could be a coincidence, so I checked several times to make sure I had really packed my wand before no one else was allowed to leave the Great Hall. I only knew the most important principles and still had a lot to learn about magic, but I was smart and would be able to defend myself if anything happened.

On the way to the Great Hall, everyone whispered to each other and some of the Slytherins completely fulfilled the stereotype that circulated about the house. This, of course, included Malfoy and his trolls, sneaking through the corridors and scaring others by sneaking up on them as if they were Sirius Black. And it's because of people like that that everyone thinks everyone in Slytherin is evil, when that's absolutely not the case, as I've discovered for myself.

When we arrived in the Great Hall, I saw that all the tables had disappeared and we were able to put our sleeping bags in the corners of our houses accordingly. Moreover, everyone there quickly got to know that the fat lady had disappeared. After I asked Lia what was so special about it and she explained that the fat lady was a painting guarding the Gryffindor common room, I understood the fuss about the whole thing.

And if that wasn't enough, shortly afterwards we were confirmed in the rumours that Sirius Black was supposed to be on the Hogwarts school grounds.

"Do you think your parents are here too, Anna? After all, there are bound to be some Aurors here when Sirius Black is here, aren't there?", Lia asked me curiously. I looked at her and shrugged my shoulders, having absolutely no idea. Apart from that, I honestly hadn't even thought about whether my parents could be here but now I was curious.

"Good question, Lia. I heard McGonagall say earlier that she was going to meet others outside the castle because of the situation. Do you think I can manage to sneak out?"

"Forget it. It'll never work. After all, Flitwick is standing there at the exit of the hall." Lia shook her head as she said this but I had an idea.

"I bet I can get past Flitwick if I tell him I need to use the bathroom. After all, we don't have any in the Great Hall and women's issues and all that stuff." I winked at her before making my way confidently towards the exit.

When I got to Flitwick, I told him the same lie I had just told Lia and he believed me. But when I was just two steps outside, I was stopped by someone else.

"What do you think you are doing here, Miss Moore? Don't take us for fools and go to your sleeping bag. No one leaves the Great Hall until Dumbledore orders it." When I turned around, Snape was standing behind me. His gaze cold and condescending as ever. Knowing there was no point in arguing with Snape, I just sighed and walked back to Lia, who had picked us out a spot at the other end of the hall. So we were right near the teacher's desk where the professors had seated themselves. Once there, she commented on my plan only with, "Told you."

I rolled my eyes, stuck my tongue out at her and laid down in my sleeping bag like everyone else. For the next few minutes, a few more people could be heard whispering and giggling from here and there but it wasn't long before it was almost completely silent and everyone was asleep.
