After reading this through I realised the time differences didn't make much sense so this chapter begins before Harry left for the trial

"Do you know what it's time for?" George's voice came from somewhere behind her.

"What's it time for?" Alice asked, slight apprehension lacing her voice.

"It's time for..." Fred trailed off as he removed his hands from over Alice's eyes, "our first prank of the term!"

Alice gasped, clapping excitedly and she jumped up and down, turning to face them. "Really?" She squeaked.

She had listened to them to on and on about it for the entire train ride there and how the first Friday back was when they always set off something pretty big.

"You know it! And as it is your first year with us, you get to choose the colour paint we use!"

"Paint? Isn't that a little bit low standard for your first prank of the year?"

"We have more planned than just that. Don't wound us so." Fred gasped, a hand clutched over his heart.

"Fine then." She hummed for a moment, striking a dramatic pose so her thinking process wouldn't be too boring for those watching on. A smile slowly spread across her face as she had an idea. "Orange." She stated with an air of finality, clearly proud of her decision.

"Orange?" Fred asked, a little bit of disgust in his tone.

"Is it because we're ginger?" George groaned.

Alice huffed, "Well yes, but also because Gryffindor plus Hufflepuff equals obnoxious orange coating all the walls of Hogwarts. But if you really have a problem with it, then go with black like my soul."

"You heard the lady's impeccable logic, orange it is." Fred stated as he walked back to the direction Alice had originally been facing to pull a large tarp off what appeared to be a small mountain. Revealing it like a dramatic showman, both boys threw jazz hands at their insane amount of paint cans, each white.

"How did y-" but Alice was cut off as Fred placed his wand to the barrel next to him and all the barrels started to turn orange in a cascade effect outwards. "Neat." She commented, not sure how else to react. It was a pretty impressive sight but she worried for the twins' sanity as she wondered how long it took them to stack all the paint cans.

"Very neat." Fred corrected with a wink.

"Okay so... what next?" Alice asked. She knew there had to be more to it then just some paint otherwise she would be sorely disappointed.

"Well our dear little Alice, we have arranged with Peeves to help set up one of our elements of this grand scheme."

"I heard my name," a sing-song voice called from the hallway outside the abandoned classroom they were using.

Immediately Alice stuck her head out the door and spotted Peeves at the end of the corridor twisting and twirling as floated towards them. "Is that my Peevie-Weevie I see?" She called.

Immediately Peeves dropped his chandelier that he was carrying as he put a hand to his eyes as he mocked searching the corridor until his eyes landed on her. "Is that my Alice full of malice?"

"Peevie-weevie!" She screamed, her armed outstretched dramatically as she started charging down the hallway towards him.

"Ma Alice!" He cried back, copying her actions.

"PEEVIE!"

"MALICE!"

They continued screaming at each other until the met in the middle of the corridor and went for a dramatic hug when Alice just ran straight through him. Skidding to a halt, they turned to face each other. "Damn," they muttered at the same time.
