Chapter 23

Dani was sprawled out on the bed trying to do her homework while Alice was chucking pencils at the ceiling to see if she could get them to stick. Apparently it was possible but Alice had so far been failing and decided she had been lied to. An anguished groan broke her from her thoughts, causing her to sit up and cast a nervous look at the girl. "What's wrong Sweetie?"

"It's these numbers. I don't trust them." She grumbled, glaring at the paper.

Stifling a laugh, Alice asked, "What don't you trust about them?"

"It's the 3 times table. They are dodgy and I don't trust them." Motioning desperately to the sheet she continued, "The 4's are nice and strong. The 5's are reliable. 2's are a bit too self confident but they're nice enough. But 3's... I don't trust them."

She bit her lip as her body shook with laughter. She began to reach for the homework sheet, fully intending to fake Mrs Brown's handwriting to get Dani out of doing it when said woman popped her head through the door. "Helping Dani with her homework? That's nice dear. But there are 2 boys downstairs saying they know you and claiming to be your brothers. Do you have any idea who they may be?"

With a gasp, Alice shot up. "Dani, are you ready to meet the heroes of my school pranking stories?"

Dani's face took on a look of awe and wonder. "Gred and Forge are here?" Alice nodded quickly in response, causing Dani to squeal in excitement.

Grabbing Dani's hand, she went to leave, stopping in the doorway as she saw Mrs Brown go to say something, but she beat her to it, "Don't worry Mrs B, we'll be on our best behaviour."

And with that, the 2 girls sprinted down the stairs to the lobby, Dani buzzing with excitement the entire way there. As they caught sight of them, Dani froze to the spot, her mouth open like fish trying to drown itself. Her hold on Alice's hand was strong enough to force the girl to a stop as well. "That's really them?" She asked in whispered awe.

Alice tugged on her hand, dragging her over to the boys who were investigating some pens on a nearby table. As they saw her approach, they dropped everything, guilty smiles on their faces. They each pulled her into a tight hug before she dragged Dani to front. "Boys, this is Dani, my sister in all but blood." Dani waved softly at them, still starstruck.

George crouched down in front of Dani to be at her height. "Pleasure to meet you Dani, I'm George. It's an honour to meet the one responsible for the beautiful chaos in the photos you gave Alice over Christmas." Alice blushed slightly, embarrassed at being called out for proudly showing everyone she could the photos of Dani's pranks.

Dani's eyes seemed to widen comically as she froze up even more. "Mr George, I'm a huge fan of your work."

This time, Fred came down to her height, both twins being giants anyway. "Well Dani, we're huge fans of your work."

There was a sort of peacefulness as the triplets exchanged grins when they saw Dani practically reduced to speechless.

"You ready to go?"

Alice's head snapped to Fred, a suspicious look in her eyes. "Go where?" she asked slowly.

"Well, we were going to introduce you around the Burrow, but Ron has been talking about you nonstop-"
