Thirty - Valerio

"Where are we going, love?" The woman I am starting to fall for all over again asks me, while I rest my hand on her thigh as the metro rolls on the rails. It hasn't even been a day since I have confessed and she's already driving me crazy with nicknames. "Somewhere," I say, sarcastically grinning as she chuckles heartily and continues to look at the window next to her.

It's like we've been with each other for the longest time like this is how our destinies meet. Deep down, I know there's a lot more to come our way, and when I rest my eyes at the lovely woman looking out the window like a child, I know we would get through it all as long as we have each other. It's crazy how we both are from different worlds yet we breathe the same air and feel the same feelings for one another.

We leave the metro like no one's watching us, Renee almost lets go of my hand, but I slid her hand back in mine as she gave me a look filled with concern. "People could see us," She says, sighing while allowing me to hold her hand. They're soft, perfect for my long fingers. "Well, the metro is crowded and there's no way I am letting go of your hand," I say sternly, glancing at her then at the station in front of me. She sighs again, as I whisper near her ear- "Besides, I don't think anyone pauses to look at their surroundings, especially in a metro station," My voice gives her an impression unintentionally but her reaction makes me smirk.

Her eyes widen and press my palm lightly. We smoothly exit the station as we both let go of each other's hands and walk like 'you saw nothing.' "Look who spoke with confidence," She bumps me with her elbow. This time she's the one who smirks. I have the urge to kiss that smirk away passionately and hold her in my arms, but I try my best not to let that idea distract me any further. We walk in silence for a few streets. The only time I get to touch her is when we cross the roads, every time I do it gets her by surprise and the butterflies kick in.

Once we cross the last road crossing, she gets jumpy and twirls around the street. She walks closer to me and my feet gradually stop. "Why did you stop?" She asks me, her voice giving me an intriguing impression, my head becomes fuzzy and I want to wake up to this voice every morning. She flashes the smile I fell in love with and my heart skips a beat. "I thought you wanted to say something," I admit, stepping closer. Now, my boldness is back as I wait for her response eagerly. "Rio," she steps forward as well. This has now become music to me, and I am pretty sure none of us are aware of many figures walking in and out of the street. Her voice, the way she just called my name like we're on a beach and she's walking with me, softly breathing out my name. I could get used to this.

A few minutes ago, she was worried if people would see us. Now, it's like the worry has completely vanished. I have to admit, it's hot. This would be the moment where I would wonder if there's something I am missing out on or whether my little desire would come true. Either way, it's a win-win. She has to stand on her toes to look right at my eyes. She's gazing at me like she's got me where she wanted. The tension is driving me crazy, my heartbeat is on another level, my mind has officially gone blank and all I want her to do is to surprise me.

Did the world just stop? Are we levitating? Please tell me this isn't my wishful thinking. "Where are we going?" She asks, and it was like crickets were chirping for a few seconds. Before I get a chance to carry her by the waist, she makes a run for it. I run behind her, surpassing all the strollers on the street. Surprisingly, her feet know where she's headed. I am so quick that I almost miss the studio. To my luck, she's not that far away from me, so I grab a hold of her hand and bring her inside the first room in my sight.

We entered the room and she burst out laughing. I grab ahold of my knees, catching my breath while my ears are focused on her laughter. Her laughter slows down as her eyes wander around the darkroom. "Is this where you wanted to bring me?" She asks, trying to raise one of her eyebrows. Now, it's my turn to burst out laughing. I release from my position as I cup her cheeks, "You're so cute, trying to tease me by raising one of your eyebrows," I brush her nose softly with mine.

Her cheeks light up and she smiles sheepishly. "So where are we?" Renee asks me, her eyes trying to read every inch of this place. I walk out of the room and look back at her. I motion her to follow me, as she nods. Her hand lightly brushes against mine, and I try not to react. I look back at her and her face flushes, whispering a "Sorry." Even a break from small intimacies doesn't feel right. We walk to the elevator as I nod to the staff walking past us.

Right when the fact that no one knows Renee hits me, my manager and Joan walk out of the elevator. "Yo!" Joan gives me a fist bump, while Raphael's eyes seem occupied in Renee's direction. Her face flushes and she smiles it away, as Raph smiles friendly. My manager's face turns back to me and raises his eyebrows. He knows what's up-
