The door creaked by the slightest bit, as the chandeliers are pouring light all over the guests (I am still wondering if I am one) It's like I entered a new world, from the gloomy night sky, to a contrasting, gleaming scenery. It's amazing how one peek can discover so many things. "Uh, would you like to come in?" A security guard came over, pushing the door a little more for me to enter in. Without giving any response, I scurried back to my shop, pretending like I didn't enter the magical place at all. I am back at my safe place, creating little bouquets to present for tomorrow's opening. My hands and mind are collaborating exceptionally well, provided how my thoughts are filled with the arena. I had worn a dress that fell till my heels, so you wouldn't see my feet. It was filled with bright flowers, adorned with a pearl necklace that my parents gifted me for my twenty-second birthday. That was four years ago. My left hand was occupied with lavenders to give the stall a more 'me' look.

I had felt a light touch on my right shoulder, my hair swooned towards my neck, as the woman asked about the lavenders in my hand "Are these for sale?" she had a soft edge to her voice, you wouldn't mind listening to her all day. I turned ninety degrees to see her completely. She looked young, with thin eyelashes that complemented her kiwi green eyes, her outfit was appropriate for the function and her lips curved, noting that she was waiting for my response. I flushed, "Oh, um, these are for decorating, you shall come inside to check out the variety of flowers inside." I flashed a smile. The young woman nodded.

My shop is pretty big, it was like half the size of a flower garden, but this evening- people seemed more attracted to the glamor and jazz a few shops away from mine. Her skirt had followed her like it had nowhere else to go. Her smile grew bigger and bigger the more further we went in. "This looks gorgeous!" She clapped, making me flinch. After a few seconds, we both laughed. "So what type of flowers would you recommend?" The young woman turned to me, eyes wandering the stall. "Who's it for, if I may ask?" I twirled around her, as she looked at me like I was a princess. "Are you sure you aren't a princess in disguise?" She chuckled loudly, making my cheeks burn. "I-" "This is for a loved one." She came back to the previous conversation, blushing. My smile grew at the thought of wanting to give her significant other flowers.

I think this was one of the reasons I decided to become a florist: to give and share joy and romance with not just ones I love and care about, but also to everyone else. "Would you like to give him some roses?" Her eyes widened and then softened at my error. "I would like to try something different, and it's for a woman," Now it was my turn for my eyes to widen and then soften at my error. "How about some daisies, sunflowers, orchids or tulips?" I recited with care, picking each type. The young woman, who had picked up her dress and sat on the stool, immediately stood up and paced up next to me. "Ahh, these look wonderful, would you mind making a bouquet filled with all these?" She looked at my eyes with awe, and I nodded "Not at all mam," She nodded quickly now, "Please, call me Luna."

My mind went blank. It was as if time stopped, like Luna froze and I was the only one who could move. I didn't know how to react. I couldn't believe my favorite indie singer's younger sister was in my shop. "Earth to a beautiful florist." She snapped her fingers in front of my eyes. I blinked, coming back to the present. She called me beautiful, this totally increases my self esteem. I let out a soft laugh, allowing myself to become a tomato. I figured I should introduce myself as well, as she politely said her name.

"My name's Renee, nice to meet you!" I smile, letting her know that I mean it. She can't help but look away. "Ah, well- this makes my day Renee, really- however, promise me you won't tell my brother that I was here would you? He doesn't really admire me walking in on flower shops during a family party." Her tone made me giggle, she sounded like a young girl who lives by the cottage and no one knows she comes and visits the city. "I am pretty sure your brother wouldn't come here." I respond, giving her a sense of relief as I get back to making the bouquet.

I start to ponder on the kind of relationship she has with her older brother, considering how he's a famous indie singer in the town of Nancy, France. I wish I had an older sibling, but I am not complaining. My hands work with grace, inserting one tulip, then one sunflower, followed by a daisy and then an orchid. The pattern repeats. As I come to an end, I ask Luna "Would you like to add a note, or a name tag?" "Yeah, a small note would be nice." She sounds composed like the piece the jazzist is playing at the party. The sound is so immaculate, that I can actually imagine being there. I take out a small card from one of the drawers and pass it to Luna along with a pen. "You may write your little note in here."

I give my customers the privacy to write whatever they wish to on their note, as flowers give the sense of personality and love. Her and I finish our tasks at the same time, I pinch the card between the flowers and give it to her. "Wow, this looks magnificent, I know she's going to love it." she jumps with joy, pausing to pay for the bouquet- as a silhouette walks inside my shop.
