Chapter 14

Shinee's POV

The investigations are now going drastically. I can't believe that Xerine is the main suspect. Tomorrow, the police will go to her house. The others will go to her company.

Things can't sink into my brain. I am too shocked. I can't take this all at once. They are all explaining the evidence to me. They are saying that Xerine's fingerprint is clear on two crime scenes. Plus the fact that she's the first witness in the headless man's case.

"What are we going to do now?" Anna asked me while we were sitting in front of many folders and files.

"I can't contact Xerine." I messed my hair in frustration. "Her staff said that she went somewhere else."

"Why would Xerine do that?" Anna's voice is full of worry. "I know that she's mysterious and sometimes weird, but she can't do that."

"We need to accept the fact that she's the only suspect. Evidence doesn't lie, Anna." I sighed. "There is only one piece of evidence, but finding a fingerprint is a big deal!"

I blew out a harsh breath. I think we need to find Xerine. No, we have to. What if she's killing someone right now?

I don't want to know why she did that. I also don't want to believe that she's the killer but like what I said, the evidence doesn't lie. If she's the killer, we need to find her for justice.

I badly want to discard the fact that Xerine is the killer. She's my friend! But why are her fingerprints present in the crime scenes? It's also obvious that the crime scenes were cleaned thoroughly. It's just that something was left behind.

I am so fucking confused. I'm a lawyer. I need to fulfill my job. The law will punish her. No one is an exemption.

Marcio's POV

I coughed when someone poured water on my face. My body hurts. I can't stand up. I can't move that much. My head hurts as well like someone is hammering my brain.

"Oh, you're awake." I saw two rubber shoes in front of me. "Did you have a good sleep?"

I went numb when I realize that I'm tied up on a tree. I'm sitting in the wet soil. Xerine is in front of me. She's staring at me, coldly.

I just fucking saw her kill that man a while ago! Then she fucking hit my head using the chainsaw! Damn, this is not my plan! This is not the fucking plan!

I never imagined that she could kill someone. I want to be with her again, but she's a crazy woman!

Just thinking about what I saw is enough to make me want to vomit. Is that my fate as well? Bullshit! I can't die here!

"What are you thinking?" She sat beside me. "That I am crazy? That I am already insane? Maybe, yes. But, you should stop thinking about that. You will stop breathing later, anyway."

"W-Why are you doing this?" I asked her.

This is the first time that I felt so scared because of a girl. And this is my first time to encounter a killer! And she's my ex-girlfriend. What kind of curse is this?

"Why are you stuttering?" She chuckled. "Simply because I love nature."

"What?" My forehead creased with her answer. I know that she loves nature. But, she killed a man! She killed a person. I can't see any guilt in her eyes.

"I killed so many people already." She looked at me. "The missing pawnshop owner is buried now in my house. I also killed the man in the fishing site, the restaurant owner, and even that Mr. Pachenco."

I gulped why listening to her. This is also the first time that I felt like I just want to run. She's crazy! Did she kill those men? H-How?

"I killed them all for the sake of nature. I am great, right?"

Xerine stood up. I am trying my best to escape, but my fate was sealed the moment I saw her with a chainsaw.

"N-No..." My tears started to fall. "P-please, don't do this, Xerine. I love you!"

She moved her chainsaw closer to my face. "You love me?"

"Y-Yes." I want to say this to her. I want to. I hope this could also save my life. "I am still in love with you after so many years."

"Bullshit." She whispered. Her face is still emotionless. Am I safe now?

"Asshole." She turned the chainsaw on. "Big asshole."

"Don't do this, please! I am begging you! Spare my life!"

"N-No! Ahhh! Ahhhh!"

Xerine's POV

I stretched my arms after putting the chainsaw down. I stared at Marcio's body. Ah, a piece of art.

I sliced his body into two, from his head to his dick. I sliced him while he was begging.

His body is now worthless like him. His internal organs are peeking out. The insects are starting to have a party in his dead body.

I dipped one of my fingers in his flesh. It's so soft. Different kinds of softness. Later, it will go hard as a rock.

I hid his body under the dried leaves. It looks so unpleasant.

I was about to go back to my treehouse when I saw something that almost made me cry.

I kneeled in front of the big tree and started crying. "I-I am very sorry..."

I hugged the tree tightly. My chainsaw hit the tree. Damn! I am an idiot for doing something like that! "I am very sorry!"

I sat beside the tree and leaned my head against its trunk. "I promise, I kill more to protect nature. I will kill them all."
