Chapter 15

Xerine's POV

After killing Marcio, I decided to go home. I need to assess my plans for my next targets. Things should go smoothly and easily.

While driving, my phone rang. I stopped on the side of the road before answering the calls. "Hello, Julius. Why did you call?"

"M-Ma'am! Something is happening in your company. There are police here! They are searching all around the area. They even showed us a warrant of arrest."

I sighed. I knew that this day would come. But things are not rolling the way I want them to be. "I have a plan, Julius. Take care of the company for me."

"Yes, Ma'am. Please take care."

I ended the call and continued driving again. Julius texted me that there are policemen too in my house right now. Fucking assholes.

Anna's POV

"This is impossible..." I whispered.

Shinee and I are here in Xerine's house with the chief of police. We explored the whole house. We found a trap door under one of the sofas.

The trap door led us to an unexpected room. The room is full of chainsaws. Two chainsaws were stained with blood. The other one looks very old.

"I didn't expect this." I turned my gaze to Shinee. "She is crazy."

"This is a weird collection, but this can't prove that Xerine is the killer!"

I still don't want to believe that Xerine did such cruelty. What if we are wrong?

My brain stopped functioning for a moment after Shinee slapped me. "Open your fucking eyes, Anna! This is not normal!"

I was still shocked because of what Shinee did, but she already left.

I can't accept this! This is impossible...

Xerine is not crazy! She loves nature so much.

Things are supposed to be right. No one deserves to die. But everything turned down now. I can't help but be emotional.

I went out of the room and head to the living room. I'm scared of those chainsaws. Each of those can kill hundreds or thousands of people.

I got confused when the policemen rushed outside. I followed them. I saw Shinee. All police have their guns aimed at someone.

"She's here," Shinee whispered.

I looked at the gate. I saw Xerine's car.

Why is she here? Is she going to give up?

I watched Xerine as she stepped out of her car. She's ignoring those guns that are aimed at her.

Xerine finally entered the house. One of her eyebrows raised. "Why are you all inside my house?"

"Miss Xerine Delgado, we're arresting you for killing two people. If you will cooperate, everything's going to be fine."

The chief came. Xerine walked closer to the police. Everyone was alarmed by that.

"Two?" Xerine smirked. "Bitch, I killed more than two people. Your accusations are wrong."

I held Shinee's arm when I heard that.

Is that true? She confessed!

"Shall we go inside?" And we all watched Xerine enter the main door.

We followed Xerine. The chief sat in front of Xerine.
"Xerine, you killed people?" I asked Xerine with all the courage that's left in me.

Xerine looked in my direction. "Oh, my two best friends are also here. And yes, I killed more than two people."

"You did?" Shinee's teeth are gritting. "You're a killer, Xerine!"

"Yes, I am!" Xerine shouted. "I just did what's right!"

I tried calming Shinee down. "Shinee, stop. Leave it to the police"

Xerine chuckled as she finally turned her gaze to the chief of police. "You can find my mother's grave in the backyard. You can also find here the remains of the pawnshop owner named Arnold Teng."

She continued after gulping. "I killed the pawnshop owner, the restaurant owner, the businessman, and even the man from the fishing site."

The chief stood up. "Come with us, Xerine Delgado."

Xerine stayed still. She laughed hysterically and dropped her phone on the center table. "I killed another one. You wanna know who?"

Shinee opened Xerine's phone. I almost vomited when I saw a picture. "Oh, God..."

There's a man in the picture. His body was sliced into two. His organs could be seen. "S-Shinee, Xerine's crazy..."

Shinee looked at me. "Stay insane."

I forced myself not to cry when Xerine showed us every evidence that proves that she's a killer. She pulled a chainsaw out of a gold bag.

"This is the chainsaw I used to kill that man just a while ago." She smiled. "He is Marcio Marquez. My ex-boyfriend."

I gasped. "W-What?"

"He is not one of my targets. But he is very annoying. And his voice is also good when he is begging for me to spare his life. It's amazing."

The chief was listening, looking at Xerine with an unbelievable expression. She said everything casually. She killed Marcio!

"Why did you do that, Xerine?" Shinee asked.

"Because they are hurting nature. And I just realized that people are really good fertilizers. My experiments went well."

In a blink of an eye, I saw myself sprawled on the floor. Someone exploded outside!
I saw a man pulling Xerine out of the house.

I tried to stay awake, but everything went pitch black.
