Shinee's POV

"Anna, why are you so slow? You know that Xerine is impatient. Just wear anything," I hissed to Anna while waiting for her.

I'm outside Anna's bathroom here in her unit. Xerine invited us to go to Japan out of the blue. She messaged us just a while ago and we have a few hours left to get ready.

I sat on Anna's pink-colored couch and grabbed my phone out of my pocket. So many messages from my soon-to-be husband. Argh! He's really sweet.

I'm Shinee and I'm going to marry my man. It's just months away from our wedding. We finally decided to marry each other after being in a relationship for eight years. We are both successful in our professions, we already bought our dream house, we have cars, and we are supporting our family financially.

I'm a lawyer and as well as my fiance. My specialties are cases of adultery, rape, abuse, and others. While my fiance is really into politics. He is actually the attorney of the last president. He is just preparing to be a judge.

We're not young anymore. I'm 37 years old, my husband is 38. We want to settle down and have a kid.

Anna is younger than me, three years younger than me, but she got married to his high school boyfriend months ago. Anna is also a lawyer. Her husband is a businessman.

About Xerine, she's really young. We're like her older sisters, but she's really thinking like a mature woman. She's already at the top despite her young age. She's also odd and weird, but her mind is really brilliant. Although she's someone I can read by just looking at her face.

"You seem to be thinking deeply," I saw Anna step out of the bathroom. She's finally dressed and ready to go.

"You're slow, so I end up doing my old habit, spacing out," I said sarcastically. "Why are you here in your unit? You have a house, you're married. You should sleep with your husband."

"He attended a board meeting in Australia. He will stay there for a week." She pouted. "Our house is lonely without him, so I chose to stay here while he's away."

"Your husband is out of the country. Now you're going to Japan. Is that how married life works?"

"He said that I should go with you and Xerine so I will not be bored. I can't also turn down Xerine's offer."

My phone suddenly rang. I excused myself as I saw Xerine's name on the screen. "Hello, Xerine?"

"Where are you two?" Her voice seems to be so annoyed. "I'm already heading to the airport."

"Anna and I are heading there as well. Anna's too slow, but we're not going to be late." I chuckled. "Don't be so silly. Wait for us, okay?"

She sighed. "Okay. Drive safely."

She immediately ended the call. I shook my head.

That kid is really stubborn. I can't help but treat her like a kid. I'm a lot older than her. She also acts like a kid sometimes. But I can't treat her like a kid when she's around. She will look at me like I did something horrible.

"Let's go, Anna." I put my cellphone back in my pocket. "Xerine's not going to wait for us. You know she's stubborn."

"And a clean freak." Anna grabbed her backpack and her keys. We're going to stay in Japan for three days only. We're just going to relax.

I carried my bag before walking to the door. What's the use of bringing too much baggage? We can buy new stuff in Japan.

Anna and I rode a taxi to the airport. She's so noisy during the whole trip. She's telling me how busy her husband is. It's pissing me off.

"We're here. Stop your tantrums. Even if your husband goes to the end of the world, he will not cheat on you, " I said to assure her, so she could stop talking.

Anna has this annoying face while we're walking to get inside the airport. Only ten minutes left before our flight. I don't really know where we're going, but I hope we will go on somewhere new.

We saw Xerine. She's already standing impatiently. Earphones are plugged into her ears while holding her phone, but her forehead is creasing.

I poked Xerine's shoulder. "Hey. We're almost late."

Xerine walked towards the line of the passengers going to Japan without even looking at Anna and me. She's walking like a leader. Her posture, aura, and even her facial expression are well defined.

"Xerine's in a bad mood again," Anna commented. "Come on, or she will leave without us."

We followed Xerine. She paid for our plane tickets. We're going to the first-class cabin because of her.

When we entered the first-class cabin, we saw famous businessmen sitting calmly. It's a bit uncomfortable because I'm not used to first-class cabins.

Anna sat beside me while Xerine was sitting in front of us. A few minutes after the airplane took off, crews started serving us food.

I stood up to check Xerine. She's already sleeping with her earphones on. "She's really cute."

"And she's young," Anna sighed. "I want to be 20 years old again."

I grabbed my phone and rolled my eyes. "Stop complaining because I'm older than you. I also want to be 20 years old again, but I know that I can't."

The trip was fast. A few minutes before the plane landed, Xerine woke up. She's back to her usual self. Poker face and cold voice.

"Let's go," we heard her say.

We went out of the airplane. The cold breeze touched my skin. It felt good. Since we're finally here, I think I have the right to know where exactly we're going to go. "Xerine, where are we heading to?"

"Yokohama," she answered plainly.

"We're just gonna go shopping?" Anna asked. "Go to the spa and get our nails cut?"

Xerine stopped. For the first time since we saw her, her eyes looked at us. "I have a piano performance there today."

I smiled. "You will not invite us if we're just going to hang out."

"Wow! I miss the way you play the piano," Anna said. Her eyes almost sparkled. "You should sing as well, Xerine."

"Never," Xerine replied with her usual calm yet serious tone.

"Don't," I whispered to Anna. "She will get mad if you'll push her to sing."

Xerine is not just gifted in the field of intelligence. She's also a great pianist. We know that she's composing songs secretly. She can be a global hit if she will pursue music, but she wants to stay at her odd powerful side.

"Xerine, your piano performance is for business again, right?" I asked Xerine

"Yeah," she answered directly as we all went out of the airport.

My eyes widened as I saw a helicopter. "What the..."

"Damn! Helicopter!" Anna exclaimed. She almost jumped in so much joy even if this was not her first time riding a helicopter.

"Let's go," Xerine said. "I don't like wasting time."

I watched how Xerine walked towards the helicopter. She's calm, but her tone is saying another thing.

She's calm but serious, yes. But she's hiding something. She's not just here to have a bonding, not just to perform.

She's aiming for something else.
