Party Time

"Oh, is it time for that now?" I had some small things for her stocking and the chocolate and Christmas candy I picked out for her. Those little gifts I wrapped for her myself. It was a very difficult task given we were living together and always together, but we somehow managed.

"I just wanted to get it done before I forgot." I smiled big. I was so excited.

"You look like you are ready to burst at the seams." I chuckled and moved to her. "I can go get yours if you want me too."

"I think you should at least fill it." I don't know why I was so excited. "I have never been in charge of someone's stocking before."

"Okay. I can do that." I stole a kiss and went to the hall closet to get her stocking stuffers out. I took the bag back to the living room to put them in it.

I clapped like a two-year-old. "What time are we due at Noah and Marisa's?"

"Lunchtime. So about 2 ish"

"C'mere." I held open my arms.

"Hmm?" I stepped into her open arms.

I slipped my arms around his neck and started to sway. "Dance with me."

We danced slowly in the living room, just holding each other close and swaying to the rhythm of our hearts. She put her head on my shoulder. I relaxed into her touch.

"Hmmm. This is nice." I don't know how long we stayed like that, but it was warm and relaxing. I faintly heard the alarm on this phone. "What's that for?"

"Time to call Josh. He'll be busy tomorrow with services and stuff, so I call him on Christmas Eve and we chat for a bit. Then it will be time to go to Marisa's and Noah's. You want in on this?"

"Sure. I would love that." I settled with him on the couch.

I sent a facetime request to my brother. He answered right away with Merry Christmas. I greeted him the same. "Oh, Hi Lizzie! How are you guys?"

"Good."

"Great. Good to see you again. Merry Christmas."

"So what on Earth have you two been up too? You are staying out of trouble aren't you?"

"Kinda, sorta, maybe not really. Oh, no not that, don't look at me that way. Sheesh, Josh. How about you?" The conversation went back and forth for a while, we laughed until we cried and talked until the next alarm went off. "Well, We have a party to get to. Yes, I'll tell them. Love you." We said our goodbyes and grabbed our stuff. "Lizzie, will you grab the chips and stuff we are supposed to bring, please?. I'll get the gifts for the gift exchange."

I grabbed the things he asked for and we headed out the door. The drive to Noah and Marisa's was nice and quiet.

We got to Marisa's place and damn near everyone was there with the one exception that I was honestly hoping for. We dropped off the stuff in the kitchen. "Okay I am going to go mingle and visit." I looked at Marisa. She smiled and nodded.

"Bye, boy." She dismissed me with a laugh and a kiss on the cheek. I hugged and kissed Lizzie and left her safe with Marisa.

"Relax, have fun. I won't be far away. You should be able to see me at almost all times."

I kissed him softly and let him on his way. I helped Marisa get things set up and talked with her easily. We soon joined the sing-along that was occurring in the living room. I settled in next to Avi and listened. Marisa announced that the food was ready.

We ate and played dirty Santa. That was a fun adventure. We headed home with our tummies full and our prizes in hand. My heart was full of happiness and joy. I got to see some friends and laugh and sing and just hang out. Lizzie met some of the people that I cared for but hadn't seen in a while. The girlfriend issue was never brought up and I didn't bother with mentioning it. I figured they'd figure it out without me telling them. Who else would sit so close to me and be able to steal me away from other conversations? Who else would I have so many private jokes with? I couldn't think of anyone. I doubted that they would either. I smiled all the way out to the car but remained quiet as I drove.
