Trees

He slowed us down and I felt amazing. Every now and then I love it rough and this was one of those times. I sighed and gave him the signal that I was ready to stop. He pulled out and I turned around and wrapped my arms around him. "Thank you. I love you." I kissed him softly and went to the bathroom. When I came back, I crawled into bed.

I am not sure that I will ever get used to hearing thank you after sex, but it felt right coming from Lizzie. I went and washed off, cleaned my hands, and then crawled into bed. I left her side turned down and the nightlight on. I was sound asleep before my head hit the pillow.

He was asleep when I crawled into bed. I snuggled into him and I fell fast asleep. I didn't wake up until his alarm went off. I groaned and rolled over.

It was tree shopping day. I woke up, jumped out of bed and headed to the bathroom, just like I did every Christmas when I was a kid. I showered quickly and got dressed, went back to my room and just stood there. "Oh!" I kissed Lizzie on her head and moved around to my side of the bed to grab my phone. "Mom. I'm going to pick out my tree today! Oh sorry did I wake you? I love you. Huh ha, yeeah. Okay. Love you. Bye." I set my phone down and tried to sneak back out of the room to go make breakfast.

He had a ridiculous amount of energy this morning. I planned on sleeping as long as he let me. I pulled the covers up making a mental note about how soft the sheets were. I was a little sore and I was pretty sure I had bruises on my hips. I cuddled his pillow and drifted off to sleep.

I slipped out of the room and went to make breakfast. I ate a bowl of cereal with toast and then I simply threw together a small omelet and cut some fruit and carried it into Lizzie. It was time to go pick a tree. I was ready.

I smelled the breakfast he made as he brought it into the bedroom. This girl was getting way too used to this. I kept my eyes closed knowing he would wake me up. I sighed. I was totally spoiled.

"Lizzie. Wake up, silly girl. I made you breakfast." I half expected to hear a giggle, I have a sister I know what fake sleeping looks like. I just laughed and sat on the edge of the bed. "Really, Sweetie, it's tree shopping day. Please."

"Alright." I pulled the covers back and sat up. "Can I have my t-shirt please?" He threw my t-shirt at me and I put it on. I accepted the plate and the fork. "So, tree, tree stand, and ribbon?"

"Didn't you say hot glue gun too? I don't have one of those, do you?"

"Oh yeah. I do, but I don't know where it is. Thank you for breakfast." I dug into my omelet. "This is so good."

"Awesome. Want some tea?" I didn't really wait for an answer. I had forgotten. I went and put the kettle on. Thank goodness we both loved tea and I already had one.

I smiled at him as he headed out the door. I finished my omelet and went to the bathroom. I pulled my hair into a ponytail and got dressed. I took note of the fingertip shaped bruises on my hips and I smiled. I took my dishes to the kitchen and found him preparing my tea. "You are far too good to me."

"I try." I smiled and stole a kiss, then stole a deeper one. "I do love you. That makes it easy."

I kissed him back and bit my lip. "I love you too." I accepted my mug from him and sipped my tea. It was perfect. I smiled and sighed. "So, did you find a tree farm?"

I laughed. "Of course! You ready? We can get breakfast on the way. Wait, we already ate that."

I laughed as I put the lid on my travel mug and went to grab my sneakers and coat. "Is it far?"

"Breakfast? No." I capped my tea and grabbed my jacket. If I was smiling half the way I felt, then I looked like that cat from Alice in Wonderland.
