Later that afternoon, I got a haircut and donated eight inches of it to Locks-for-love. I curled my hair a bit and put on some makeup. I thought the cut really suited me. I drove back to the tower and headed to the common room. I then got out of the elevator and walked in.

"Hey guys!" I said. Everyone gasped. Alexa was sitting in Steve's lap, Clint and Abby were holding hands, Jordan had been trying to teach Thor how to use a phone, and Maddy was sitting next to Bruce. Meanwhile, Tony was playing with a gadget.

"Ellie, you look pretty!" Alexa said and did a little growl.

"Well, someone's getting laid tonight." Tony said and whistled.

"You look nice!" Steve said.

"Ooh, Ellie! You are like a completely different person." Maddy said.

"Yeah, you really are different. It's weird, but in a good way." Bruce said.

"God, this is going to take some getting used to. But, you look really nice!" Abby said.

"Did you show Bucky yet?" Clint asked.

"Isn't he here?" I asked. I looked around.

"He left ten minutes ago to do something. He wouldn't tell us what, though." Steve said.

"But, I have a theory." Alexa said.

"And what's that?" I asked.

"Be patient, Ellie. Be the mountain goat!" Jordan said. I just smiled and shook my head. If only I had known what Bucky was really up to.

Bucky's POV

"Come on, Bucky. What do you think she likes?" Nat asked me as I looked down the row of rings.

"I just want something that's simple, but still bright." I said.

"Are you sure this is the right thing to do?" Natasha asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked as I turned to look at her.

"You have only known her for four months, and the way your going to propose to her is really romantic, but don't you think it's a bit too soon?" Natasha asked. I sighed.

"I have been thinking a lot about this. Ellie is just so happy and bright. I just want to do something special for her. I know she is the one, but I'm afraid that something will happen on the mission and I will never get to tell her." I said. Natasha looked at me.

"Tell her what?" Natasha asked.

"That I love her." I replied. Natasha smiled and patted my shoulder.

"You are apart of the Avengers now. I understand why you want to do this. The dangers and life-threatening experiences that come with it would make everyone a bit paranoid. But remember that Ellie is a person and she might just need some time." Natasha said. I smiled and turned to look at the most beautiful ring I had ever seen. It had small diamonds on it, but it was a gold band that shined like the stars above.

"That's the one." I said, "I won't propose right away. I will just do it when the time is right." I said.

"Good idea." Natasha said.

"Which ring will you be wanting sir?" The man said who had been showing me the rings.

"That one." I said and pointed to the fancy ring.

"Excellent choice, sir. That will be 2,000 dollars." He said. I looked at Natasha.

"Here. Use this SHIELD card." Natasha said.

"We don't accept SHIELD cards." The man stated. Natasha looked at him.

"Excuse me?" She asked.

"SHIELD cards are not compatible here because of a previous incident that involved them, a robbery, and the damage to this building." The man said. Natasha smiled through clenched teeth.
