Chapter 14: Battle for Vale

Pyrrha: "I'm sure they're fine"

Jaune: "You think?"

Nora: "Probably a butt dial". Team JNPR were headed to the airship, about to leave on their mission, but Jaune had expressed a concern he had for Team RWBY. He had received a call from Ruby, but there was no one on the other end and the call went off after about 6 seconds.

Ren: "Team RWBY has always performed exceptionally in the field. Besides, Kai is with them. I wouldn't worry, instead we should be focusing on our own mission"

Nora: "We're gonna be deputies!"

Jaune: "I just got this...feeling, I don't know...". Pyrrha placed a hand on his shoulder, "Jaune..." but before she could continue, a sound like an explosion came from the city in the distance, and an alarm could be heard. A similar alarm suddenly became active at the school, and Nora covered her ears at the loud sound. The students recognized the alarm, it was the warning for a grimm attack.

Jaune: "We're changing our mission. Everyone on board. We're going into the city"

Cinder stared off at the city in the distance, listening to the alarm going off. Emerald and Mercury ran up beside her.

Emerald: "You don't think..."

Mercury: "Well it sure looks like it"

Emerald: "But that's still days away!"

Mercury: "So..." he turned to Cinder, "...what do we do?"

Cinder: "Hmmm..."

The five students cut down grimm after grimm, but they just kept on coming. The grimm were everywhere in the city, there was too many of them, but Kai and Team RWBY kept on going. As the girls battled, Kai turned his attention to the King Taijitu who had been glaring at them the whole time. Sensing his hostility, the grimm struck first, its giant black snake head charging towards Kai. He blasted a barrage of fire balls at it, which stopped the charge, and the grimm shook its head, disoriented. Kai then jumped into the air, and with a vertical spin, came down like a wheel, slicing off the head completely. The neck of the grimm fell limp and the head came crashing down to the pavement below, before vaporising completely. But there was something that had been bothering Kai ever since he first saw that King Taijitu.

Kai: "Where's the second..." a shadow suddenly loomed over him, and he looked up to see the white counterpart of the grimm he had just killed, glaring at him menacingly, "...head..." Without warning, the grimm struck but as Kai prepared to counter attack, an orange haired girl appeared from above, smashing her hammer into the head of the snake causing it to fall and crash onto the floor, completely immobilised.

Nora: "Awesome!" Kai watched as the rest of Team JNPR assembled along side Nora and began to fight back the grimm hoard. He smiled, and then jumped back into the fray.

Kai: "Man am I glad to see you guys" He slashed down two Creeps and blasted away an Ursa.

Pyrrha: "It was Jaune, he had a feeling you guys needed some help" She impaled an ursa with her spear and swung it around like a weapon to smack away some surrounding beowolves.

Kai slashed at another wave of ursa, and then Pyrrah jumped over him to attack a creep that had leapt into the air at them. Kai then turned around to use a flaming slash to clear the beowolves on the other side. A deathstalker roared and charged towards them. Pyrrha and Kai charged at it also, but halfway, Pyrrha got down on one knee and held her shield above her. Kai jumped on it and boosted himself up into the sky, before coming down with his blade pointing downwards directly above the grimm. He came down like a blazing arrow from above, and he smashed straight through the deathstalker, leaving only black smoke in place.
