Kai: "So? What happened?"

It was the next morning, and Ruby had just gotten back from a meeting with Professor Ozpin and General Ironwood. Apparently she left the dance early last night and ran into an unknown intruder in the Beacon control tower. She was then called in this morning to give her own account on what went down. Kai, Weiss, Blake and Yang were awaiting her return in Team RWBY's room.

Ruby: "Weeeeeeell, I told them the same thing as before, the intruder wore a mask, used glass weapons, her clothing lit up whenever she attacked. Glynda thinks it's the same woman we fought the night I first ran into Torchwick"

Blake: "So they are connected to the White Fang!"

Ruby: "Ozpin said it was likely, so when I heard that, I...kind of said I heard her talking about a hide-out in the south-east outside the kingdom"

Kai: "Ah, the same one Blake and Sun heard about at that White Fang rally"

Weiss: "That was a risky move"

Blake: "No, I think you handled it well". Ruby sighed, "I hope so". Yang smiled and placed a hand on her shoulder, "I'm sure everything will be alright Ruby...OH! I know what'll cheer you up!". Yang walked over to the table in the room and picked up a long cylindrical brown parcel.

Ruby: "What's that?"

Yang: "I don't know. Dad sent it to us. I thought we could open it together". Ruby squealed, "Oooh something from home!" She zipped over to Yang and wrapped her legs around her, trying to grab the parcel which Yang held just out of her reach. Just then the bottom of the parcel opened, and a black item fell out. Everyone stared at the cylindrical item as it wobbled and wobbled, then finally un-folded. It barked.

Kai: "A dog??!"

Ruby: "Zwei!" She picked up the dog and hugged it.

Blake: "He sent a dog?!"

Weiss: "Through the mail?!"

Yang: "Oh he does stuff like this all the time". Blake climbed and took cover atop Ruby's bed, "Your father or your dog?"

Kai: "That still doesn't make it normal you know. Not to us anyway". Weiss brought her face closer to Zwei, "Are you telling me, that this mangy...drooly...mutt...is going to live with us forever, oh yes he is..." As Weiss finally fell to the dog's charms and began to fuss over him, Yang commented, "Please keep him away from my belongings"

Just then Glynda' voice came over the P.A. system, "Would all first year students please report to the amphitheatre"

Kai: "That's us. Mission time"

Weiss: "Well we can't exactly leave him here while we're gone for a week"

Yang: "Look there's a letter", she brought out a letter from the parcel and began to read it out loud, "Dear girls, I've got to leave the island for a few days, so I'm sending Zwei for you to take care of. Enclosed is all the food you need. Love you both, Taiyang". Yang turned the parcel upside down, and an entire heap of canned foods fell out and piled up on the floor.

Kai: "Seriously how does he do that?"

Yang: "Well that settles it, Zwei will be here when we get back. She walked out of the room, and Kai followed suit. Weiss oggled the dog before she left, and Blake nimbly leapt from Ruby's bed to the table and out the room, while Ruby stayed behind, looked over at Zwei, and then smiled to herself.

Glynda: "Quiet. Quiet please." Kai, Team RWBY and Team JNPR stood next to each other among all the gathered students as Glynda continued, "Professor Ozpin would like to share a few words before we begin"
