Chapter 4: The Atlesian Paladin

Sun: "They got a robot! And it's big, really BIG! That Torchwick guy is in it, he's like controlling it or something" Yang got on her bike with Neptune, and Kai climbed his hover board. Yang spoke into her scroll, "Where are you guys?" At that moment, Sun and Blake ran past the front of the club, followed closely by a giant mech.

Neptune: "I think that was them"

Kai: "You don't say" He zoomed off on his board, with Yang and Neptune following behind him on Bumblebee.

Sun and Blake jumped down onto a highway bridge, leaping from car to car with speed an agility one would expect from someone of the Faunus race. But the mech wasn't so nimble. Instead, Torchwick simply bulldozed through the highway, knocking aside various cars in the process. Kai and Yang trolled just behind the rampaging mech, and it didn't seem like they were going to catch up.

Yang: "We got to slow it down". Kai and Neptune replied in unison, "Got it". Just then, the mech barged through a hoarde of cars, sending them flying behind it straight at them. Kai flew over the cars on his board, while Yang  expertly maneuvered her bike between the falling cars and emerged untouched on the other side. With the cars out of the way, Kai raised his right arm, his palm pointed at the mech, and unleashed a barrage of fire balls. At the same time Neptune unfolded his blaster, and also took aim at the robot, firing bright blue lasers in quick succession.

Torchwick grunted inside the Atlesian Paladin, the blasts weren't doing much damage, but they were definitely slowing him down. Neptune then transformed his blaster into a spear and leapt from Bumblebee, landing directly on the mech with his spear stuck into it. But now he was stuck there, getting tossed around like a rag doll as the mech continued its march. Sun stopped and tried to save Neptune by using his projections as a distraction before leaping to get him out, but then the mech suddenly tossed Neptune, slamming him into Sun, ultimately sending them both flying over the side of the bridge.

Kai: "So much for that idea" Kai then aimed some fire balls at the legs of the mech, but his vision suddenly blurred, causing a few to miss but finally he was able to hit his target, causing the robot to lose balance and slip, landing on some ice that had been put in place just in time by Weiss, and slid along the ice off the side of the bridge, landing below, and was quickly joined by Kai and the members of Team RWBY, as they all readied their weapons, prepared for battle. The mech marched onwards menacingly towards the students as they tried to come up with a plan.

Kai: "So...what's the play here?"

Weiss: "Didn't you cut an airship in half? Can't you just take on this guy yourself?"

Ruby: "Of course, you can just do that super slash thingy"

Kai: "Uhhh, actually...I have a confession to make"

Blake: "A confession?"

Kai: "I am...kind of drunk right now"

Yang: "What?! Since when?"

Kai: "Since we left Junior's club"

Weiss: "You were drinking at a club?!"

Kai: "My vision's blurry, my balance is kind of messed up and my grip is weakened. But if I can get a clear shot..."

Ruby: "Got it. Just follow Team RWBY's lead!" As the Atlesian Paladin got closer, Ruby yelled, "Freezerburn". At the command, Weiss made a floor of ice, and Yang leapt into the air, coming down with a power punch that broke away all the ice, turning it into a mist that now covered the battle field. The mech marched on, its sensors moving in every direction, trying to figure out the positions of its opponents through the mist.

Ruby suddenly dashed at the mech with her scythe, but she was swatted back with a mechanized arm. She landed on her feet and called, "Check mate". Weiss and Blake began to slice away at the mech's legs, which prompted it to attempt to stomp them. As they jumped away to avoid the leg, Kai saw his opening, and with a burst of speed, immediately appeared mid air before the mech, his blazing sword raised for a powerful strike. But just before he could execute, his vision blurred again, and he got swiped away by the mech's large robotic arm. While he was still on air, Torchwick then pressed a button to unleash a flurry of missles at him. Kai was able to cut some of them but the explosions sent him flying backwards, though he managed to land on his feet. Weiss then enhanced Blake with one of her glyphs, giving Blake temporary strength and speed, enough to slice through all the remaining missles.
