Chapter 12: Stop That Train

A loud rumbling sound reverberated through the entire cave where Roman Torchwick and his White Fang operatives currently inhabited. He groaned.

Torchwick: "Uh Perry if you and the boys could take care of that? Kind of in the middle of something" he gestured to Ruby who lay helpless on the floor. The Whitefang henchman named Perry nodded and walked towards the sound which only grew louder with the next round. Infuriated now Torchwick yelled, "What is going on here?" He turned his attention to the direction of the sound. It was coming from one of their entrances, usually guarded by a giant metal door. The sound came again, this time followed by an explosion, and a number of people emerged from it. Torchwick recognized the four students, though he didn't recognize the green haired man that accompanied them. As Torchwick scowled at the scene, Ruby used the distraction to make a dash towards her friends. He pointed his cane at her and barked a command, "Somebody kill her!"

He and a group of White Fang members began to shoot continuously at Ruby, but she managed to speedily avoid all of them. Torchwick growled, nearly bending his cane, before turning to Perry, "Attach this car and spread the word, we're starting the train"

As Ruby raced on, her path was suddenly blocked by another group of White Fang operatives, their blasters aimed at her, ready to fire. But before they could do that a stream of flames knocked them all to the ground, and Kai stood behind them, his giant blade resting on his shoulder. Yang ran past him and squeezed her sister into a hug.

Yang: "Ruby!"

Kai: "You alright Ruby?"

Ruby: "I'm fine I'm fine but listen, Torchwick's got all sorts of weapons and robots down there" Blake handed her Crescent Rose as she continued speaking, "Androids, mechs, they're all loaded up on the train cars"

Kai: "But, these tunnels are sealed, they'll run into a dead end"

Oobleck: "Ah so you were paying attention"

Kai: "Hey, I can understand at least that much". Suddenly a P.A. system went live with a screech, and a voice spoke through it, "Get to your places, we're leaving now". The group watched as the underground train gave a hiss as it came to life, before moving along the tracks, slowly at first but steadily picking up speed.

Yang: "Well they're definitely going somewhere"

Ruby: "We need backup, let me call Jaune" she pulled out her scroll to make the call but the 'LOW SIGNAL' sign flashed on the screen in bright red letters, "I can't get through!"

Weiss: "So what do we do?"

Oobleck: "I believe we only have one option."

Ruby: "We're going to stop--that--train"

Kai: "Well come on then" Following Kai, the group raced towards the tail car and leapt on board with the help of one of Weiss' glyphs.

White Fang henchman: "Sir I think they're on the train". Torchwick groaned in the control room where he currently stood and then turned to the henchman who was still in the doorway, "Then grab some cargo, and get them off the train". The henchman left and Torchwick groaned loudly again, "Ugh, animals everywhere". His attention suddenly went to the faunus operator beside him, "Uh, not you though, you're...you're doing great..."

Oobleck: "Hurry children, we must get to the front and stop this train". Weiss opened up a hatch and looked inside, "Uh...Professor?" He corrected, "Doctor". Weiss ignored his comment and instead pointed a finger inside, "What is that?" Everyone peered inside the train to see a large mechanical device with wires sticking out of it and different colored tubes attached to it.

Oobleck: "That my dear...appears to be a bomb"

Ruby: "We've got baddies" she pointed straight ahead, and sure enough, a number of White Fang soldiers were crowding to the top of the train from different cars and they were headed straight for the Beacon crew.
