Chapter 2: Chance Encounter

Kai sat in the library, having a study session with Team JNPR. Well most of them were studying anyway. Ren and Pyrrha were reading, but Nora was fast asleep, and Jaune was also reading, but the book in front of him was an action comic book, which prompted Pyrrha to snatch it away from his hands, and slide a school textbook over to him. Kai was currently reading a book on different Grimm types and how to fight them. Though he already knew most of the things in the book, it had been a while since he had actually killed any Grimm, so he decided it wouldn’t hurt to refresh his memory. But it was a little hard to do this with Team RWBY’s loud chattering on the next table.

Weiss: "Muahahahahahaha! Yes, fear the almighty power of my forces! Cower as they pillage your homes and weep as they take your children from your very arms!"

Yang: "Trap card...(Weiss: "Huh?")...your armies have been destroyed!". Weiss sank into her seat in tears, "Ugh, I hate this game of emotions we play". Ruby zoomed into her arms, also in tears, "Be strong Weiss we'll make it through this together"

Kai: "Ugh. Do they really have to be so loud?"

Jaune: "I'm gonna go check out their game, it seems cool. Come on Kai" Jaune dragged Kai to his feet and they both walked over to Team RWBY's table.

Jaune: "Hey guys, can I play?"

Ruby: "Sorry we've already got four people"

Weiss: "Besides this game requires a certain tactical cunning that I seriously doubt you posses"

Kai: "Uh, you attacked your own naval fleet about two turns ago" Weiss' immediately had an embarrassed look on her face as she stuttered, "W-Wha...b-but...how did you know that?". Kai sighed, "That's the actual reason I came over here, you guys are being too loud"

Yang: "Sorry Kai, we'll try to keep it down"

Kai: "Thank you Yang"

Jaune: "Well I came over here to play. I'll have you know Ice Queen, that I've been told that I'm a natural born leader"

Weiss: "By who, your mother?"

Jaune: "A-And Pyrrha!...(Pyrrha: "Hello again")...come on, let me play your hand for a turn"

Weiss: "I'm not trusting you with the good citizens of Vacuo"

Jaune: "Why not? You've trusted me with way more important stuff before. I mean you told us all that Blake is secretly a Faun...OWWWW!!" Jaune held his jaw in pain from where Kai's extended fist had just slammed into it.

Kai: "Oh sorry, my hand slipped"

Pyrrah: "What Jaune meant..."she had rushed over to RWBY's table and was now putting a palm over Jaune's mouth, "...was that Blake is secretly a FUN LOVING PERSON who we all admire and respect"

Kai: "Nice" Noticing Blake's scowl, he began to usher Jaune away, "Well enjoy your, hopefully much quieter, battle"

Sun: "Sup losers". Kai stopped and  turned to find Sun standing at RWBY's table.

Kai: "Yo"

Ruby: "Hey Sun"

Sun: "Kai, Ruby, Yang, Blake, Ice Queen..."

Weiss: "Why does everyone keep calling me that?"

Kai: "Uh, is that a trick question?"

Sun: "...I never got the chance to formally introduce you to my old friend", he gestured to the blue haired guy now standing beside him. Neptune glanced at their game, "Uh, aren't libraries for reading?". Across the room Ren shouted, "THANK YOU!!", which made Nora to wake up and exclaim, "Pancakes!"
