Ian's POV
We had our breakfast before leaving for the airport. I couldn't sleep much last night. My mind was filled with thoughts of her. Yesterday was amazing. The way her hair moved when she danced in my arms, the way her eyes the gleamed with happiness, I couldn't help but fall deeper. She was my heaven and everything beyond.
The plane took off soon after we boarded. I was sitting with Kia and we were talking. She fell asleep on my shoulder mid-flight.
I woke up to the captain saying we had landed. I looked over to her still sleeping on my shoulder. She looked peaceful. We soon got off the plane and went to the head office. Filled forms and got congratulated.
"That was a long day." She sighed.
"Sure was," I said, collecting my files.
"Wanna come over my place for coffee later?" she looked at me.
"Are you sure? I don't wanna trouble you- "
"I'm sure."I couldn't help but smile. She texted Addy that she will be coming home in a few hours. We finished off more work and joked around with the others.
"Come on let's take my car," I said as we left the building.
"My car isn't even here so I don't think we have much of a choice." She laughed.
"Let's go love."
We got in my car. I stared at her looking outside the window. I decided to tell her what I've been thinking the whole day.
"You wanna stop at McD and get something for us. Plus, Adrian will be happier if he saw you with a happy meal. Double happiness." I winked at her. I know she hasn't said anything about this, but I know she's been thinking about me and Adrian. I know how much he means to her. And how much she means to mean. And Adrian is an amazing kid.
She looked at me with wide eyes before smiling, "Yes we should do that."
We reached the drive-through and ordered before getting back on the road to her house.
I saw her smiling wide and playing with her fingers. Something she did when she was nervous or excited.
"You seem excited to get home." I laughed at the face she made when she realised what I had said.
"Yea. I've missed him a lot. Plus, I couldn't spend much time with him when he came here." She said smiling.
"You know you're a great mom. Adrian is a really lucky child."
"Adrian is a great kid. I must be perfect for him 'cause that's what he deserves. His birth mom wasn't there for him, but I want to." She let out a sigh.
"You're perfect for him. And to me." I squeezed her in reassurance.
We reached her place and I parked m car in her yard. Her house was beautiful. It had the vintage look that I knew she loved. We made our way to the front door. She fiddled with her keys before unlocking it.
"Come on. Let's go." She turned and spoke. We entered the house, and the lights were off.
"MOMMA YOU'RE BACK. YOU'RE BACK." Adrian came running and jumped on her. I caught her as she stumbled before gaining her stance.
"Hey, baby. I missed you so so much." She said placing kisses on him. Soon she kept him down and he looked at me. His eyes staring deep into mine. All I could see was innocence and happiness in them and at that moment I knew that I wouldn't let anyone hurt Kia or Adrian. Because they both were made for each other. And Kia for me.
