Kiara's POV
It's finally time. I can't believe in sitting on a plane to NYC. It's been 5 years since I've been there, and I have no intentions to go back there. But again, since my parents died when I was only 12, I
know that sucks, but I don't want anyone's pity on that. Anyways I was made heir to their company when I turned 21. I always handled the stuff with the help of my uncle, he took me in his care after my parents and he's the best. He and my aunt treated me like their own. They have one daughter, Clara Williams, she's been my best friend since like ages. Anyways when I graduated, my uncle thought it'd be better if I start focusing on the company that he had been taking care of for the past few years. I worked from California for three years and now that I'm 26 my uncle decided it was time id work in the main office like my father used to. So here I am on a flight to New York. The plane finally landed, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't tired. Soon I was on my way to my house. My uncle brought one as a gift since I was coming here. The driver stopped the car at the main gate, and I got out, and honestly, I was taken back by the view. The house was crème shade, double floored with huge windows and had an amazing view. It had a small garden just like our house back in Cal. I'd always loved to walk in the gardens. You can blame it on my dad, who was so powerful, yet had a soft spot for me, my mom, her cooking, and flowers. I have green eyes like my dad and soft red hair like my mom's. They were quite a catch during their times. I made my way inside the house and I was mesmerized. It had marble floors and mazing walls and furniture. It was simple yet elegant. I went around the house for a quick tour. It had a huge library, movie room, and bedrooms. The kitchen overlooked the garden, and I was in love with it. I was brought out my thoughts as my phone rang. It was my uncle.
"Hello, my little sunflower," he said, and I'd remember how my parents used to call me that. "Hello, Mr Williams" I teased "how can I help you today?"
"My my, I called to check up on you, Ms Williams" he chuckled. I let out a small laugh.
"I'm already missing you all ugh," I said
"We miss you too sunflower. How was your flight? Did you like your new house?"
"Like are you kidding? I loved it. It's the most beautiful I've ever seen. My flight was good I'm kinda tired though."
"Get some rest little one. It's your first day tomorrow at the office I wanted to wish you the absolute best. I call you tomorrow."
"I love you, Jacky," I said as I heard a scoff. His name was Jacob and he gets annoyed when I call him Jacky, but then do I care? No.
"When will you ever stop calling me that?"
"You know you love me" I chuckled.
"Yes. Yes, I do. Now get some rest. By Ms Williams"
I laughed and cut the call. I was ready to go to bed. I'd unpack later. All I care is to sleep right now. I sighed and went to my bedroom and took a moment to admire it before heading to the shower and getting dressed for bed. As I laid down, my mind filled with memories of when I was in New York. Thinking back to those hurtful days was always painful. I shoved those thoughts back and focused on sleeping, after all, tomorrow was the first day I'd work from my dad's office, which was now mine. I was determined to make him proud. Darkness soon took over me as I drifted into a deep sleep.
I hope you liked the first chapter. I know it isn't the best and all but trust me on this one. I've planned so much for this story that's coming ahead.
