I woke up to my phone going off. I fell asleep in my work clothes. Good job Ian. I picked up the phone and looked t who was calling me so early in the morning. It was Lewis, my PA. yes, I have a male PA cuz I can't handle all those pervy females who came to apply for this position.
"Hey boss, we have an important meeting to attend too in an hour. I was wondering if you forgot because you didn't arrive at the office." Lewis spoke as soon as I answered. "I remember we have a meeting today. How come it's in an hour, it's only- "I paused when I looked over the clock. It was 12. Fuck. Remind to never drink on workdays.
"Yeah, it's 12 in the afternoon. Get here ASAP boss. I'll get the documents and papers ready" Lewis said laughing.
"Thanks, man. Be right there."
I cut the line and went to freshen up. I put on a grey suit with a white shirt. The place I was supposed to be going didn't require us to be quite formal, but a suit was a must.

I quickly fixed my hair and went down. I grabbed the coffee made by the cook and rushed to my car. Lucky for me there was no traffic. I reached the office around 12:30. As I entered I met Lewis who was waiting for me with an annoyed look on his face and files in his hands.
"Glad you decided to come." He mocked.
"I drank last night don't blame me."
"If you say so, boss." "God Lewis cut the crap." I laughed. Lewis was the only one who joked around me. But he even knew when not to. that's what I liked in him. The others feared me. They should be. I'm their boss.
We made out way to the Central Office. It was about 15 minutes away from my office. There meetings were held for all businessmen from around New York to attend. It happened once a month, to catch up on the sales and all. We reached as the shadow of a huge building covered the road. The building was quite vintage, the furniture and all was antique.
We went to the main hall. Thank god we had a few more businessmen to come. There was a huge table in which all of us can sit and discuss. The PA's had to sit at the back and not on the table.
I and Lewis quickly went over the files he brought. When I heard the clicking of heels against the marble floor. I looked over to see Kiara. She was beautifully dressed in a formal sage colour suit and a black tank. Her hair in a loose messy pony, with soft curls, her makeup light but showed off her feature well.

As she walked in, all the eyes were on her, the other two ladies looked at her with jealousy, and the men looked at her with hungry eyes. I suddenly felt a feeling of anger and jealousy grow inside of me.
Soon the head of the meeting, Louis, came inside. He was an old man, probably around 45-50. He had dirty blond hair, wrinkles on the sides of his grey eyes. He was well dressed. He made his way to sit at the end of the table. Kiara was sitting right beside him, two seats opposite to me.
"Welcome everyone, before we start our meeting I would like to introduce you to Ms Williams. She came here this month only. She is the daughter of our beloved Mr Williams. Please make her feel welcome" he said. The hall was filled with the sounds of claps. Kiara gave a smile before taking her seat.
"So, you might be wondering why I called you all here before our normal meeting date?" everyone was faced towards him in curiosity.
"The board has decided to send our main businessmen to LA since there is a function being held in about 2 weeks. They think it is better for our companies. All you must do is attend. This way businesses from LA can form alliances with us."
Many people agreed to this idea. I thought it was quite a good opportunity for business as well as a vacation or something. We discussed a few more things and almost an hour later the meeting was ending.
"Thank you all for being present here. Hoping to see you in LA with your dates, you can bring any plus one. You all can leave now."
Everyone began to stand up and collect their files.
"Mr and Mrs Thompson, Mr Parker, Ms Williams, Ms Balker and Mr Orman, would you mind staying?" He spoke.
They all were confused and was I, but we waited for everyone to leave.
"I have a job for you all. Please, take a seat." He said as he sat down.
