I was being prepped for my very first cover shot for Vogue magazine. Make up artists and hair dressers were buzzing around my head like a swarm of bees, curling my black locks and applying various powders to my face. Normally, I'd have been ecstatic to be in this position. I adored getting made up like this, and I enjoyed being in front of a camera more than I would like to admit. But today, my mind was on a totally different train of thought.

Today marked exactly one week since the infamous Nikki Sixx and I had started dating, and I hadn't heard from him since. The entire week, I'd been biting my nails, anticipating the worst for the wild-haired bassist. I was sure that the curse had already worked its magic and he was perhaps dead in a gutter somewhere. My imagination continued to flash to various graphic images of Nikki's body, mutilated and stashed away somewhere unbeknownst to me or his bandmates.

The thoughts made my stomach churn.

"Ms. Rinaldi?"

I turned in my chair, the stylists following my head motions, and saw my assistant, Sarah, charging towards me. She seemed flustered and her brown eyes flashed behind her glasses.

"Ms. Rinaldi, I tried to stop him-"

"Stop who?" I demanded.

"Your boyfriend! Who else?"

Nikki was suddenly right beside me, a bouquet of lilies in one hand and his other arm outstretched as though he expected me to stand up and give him a hug.

"Nikki! What are you doing here?" I snapped, totally mortified that Nikki would show up to my photo shoot unannounced like this. I hoped this didn't look too unprofessional....

"Ms. Rinaldi, I never heard you say anything about a boyfriend. Is this man bothering you? Do you need me to call security?" Sarah asked, snatching up her walkie-talkie and glaring at Nikki.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"He is bothering me," I began, scowling up at the grinning man. "But, he is my boyfriend. I'm sorry, I forgot to mention it, Sarah. We just started dating last week. Don't worry, I'll take care of him."

Sarah looked Nikki up and down suspiciously before retreating with a reluctant "yes ma'am".

"What do you want Nikki?" I hissed at him once Sarah had left.

"You didn't think I'd forget about our one week anniversary did you, pookie bear?"

I cringed as he leaned forward and planted a sloppy kiss on my cheek. One of the make up artists groaned in annoyance and quickly shoved him away before swiping his saliva off of my face and touching up the spot.

I shot him a dirty look, but that only made him chuckle softly to himself.

"Why haven't you called me? I thought you were-"

"Dead?" He interjected. He laughed when he saw me wince at the mention of the word. "Nah. Just busy with band practice. These are for you, by the way. My first act of boyfriendly duties."

I watched, unimpressed, as he held out the lilies even closer to me.

"Lilies?" I asked blandly.

He nodded enthusiastically and shook them lightly, as if to encourage me to take them.

"The same flowers that you'd bring to a funeral?" I raised an eye brow at him.

"What? No! The same flowers that I'd bring to my girlfriend," he corrected, beaming at me.

I stared at him for a moment, unsure as to whether or not he was being serious. A rockstar like him, bringing flowers to his fake girlfriend? He had to be playing me. Guys like him didn't buy flowers.
