"Nikki Sixx, I hate you!" I shrieked, beating my fists against any part of him that I could reach.
"Ouch! Winter! That hurts!" Nikki cried out in pain, trying to shield his head from my fists. The rest of the band was howling with laughter behind me.
"Good! You deserve it, you idiot! What the fuck made you think that this would be funny?" I demanded, continuing to pummel him.
"I have a sick sense of humor! You know that!" Nikki reminded me. "Come on! It's funny!"
"I'll kill you!" I shouted, a new wave of rage surging through me. This time, I began kicking him too.
"Tommy!" Nikki gasped in between his mixture of laughs and screams. "Tommy! Help me!"
Within moments, a pair of arms were wrapped around my waist and I could feel myself being tugged away from Nikki. Still, I tried desperately to lunge at the bassist, my arms outstretched and grasping at the air between us as I tried desperately to get ahold of him once more.
"Just lemme' wrap my hands around his neck!" I pleaded to Tommy, writhing around and trying to break free.
"No way, José," Tommy insisted. "We need him for our band. The ladies love him."
"Yeah? Well I don't," I spat, glaring daggers at Nikki. For whatever reason, he still had a cocky grin on his face. All I could think of was how badly I wanted to slap it off of his face.
"That's not a nice thing to say to your boyfriend," Tommy scolded.
"I'm not just saying it to him. I hate you too!" I yelled, turning my attention to Tommy, who had been in on the prank from the start. All of them had been. "In fact, I hate every one of you!"
"Winter, you're breaking my heart. That's no way to talk to the men who are about to give you the greatest night of your life," Vince said softly, sauntering up to me and grinning.
I rolled my eyes and looked out the window, refusing to look at any of them. They were assholes. "I'm not interested."
"Are you sure? You're not the least bit curious as to why we had you come all the way to this hospital?" Nikki asked slowly, lifting his eye brow suggestively as if that might peak my interest. I tried not to seem like I cared, even though my ears had perked at his words.
"I know why you made me come here. You're a bunch of sick fuckers who get a kick out of scaring the shit out of me," I grumbled, still staring out the window. The sunlight was pulsing in, blinding me, but my stubbornness wouldn't allow me to look away. I didn't want to give them any of my attention.
"Fine. Let her go, Tommy. She obviously hates having fun," Nikki teased.
I felt Tommy's grip loosen and my feet were soon on the ground once more. Once I was free, I immediately turned on my heel and slapped Tommy's cheek so hard that it echoed throughout the room.
"What the fuck, Winter?" Tommy demanded, holding a hand to his aching cheek.
"I don't think any of you realize just how scared I was," I said, tears welling up into my eyes as I spoke. I could hear how badly my voice was trembling, but I didn't care anymore. "I thought that Nikki...I was so sure that he..."
I couldn't even say it. I finally let out a sob and fell to the floor, my weak legs could hold me up no longer. I was exhausted. All of the anxiety up until now had drained me completely.
As I quivered and cried, I felt somebody sit down somewhere close beside me. Then another body. Sniffling, I dared to look up, and what I saw made me cry harder.
Each one of the guys-even Mick, with his medical condition-had seated themselves around me. They were surrounding me, their faces in various stages of concern as they watched me cry. Even Tommy, despite having my hand imprinted onto his cheek, was watching me with worried eyes.
"Hey," I heard Vince coo as he tenderly placed a loving hand on my shoulder. "We're sorry, Winnie. We were just messing around. We didn't mean to make you cry."
I tried to force a smile, but I couldn't find it in me to grin. I still felt hurt. I had been so worried....
"Besides, even if you didn't think our prank was funny, it was pretty hilarious the way you bitch slapped Tommy," Nikki added, chuckling lightly.
I couldn't help but smirk a little at that. I still couldn't believe I had gotten so out of control that I had hit Tommy that hard.
"Hey!" Tommy whined, pouting at Nikki.
"I'm sorry Tommy," I murmured. "That was meant for Nikki."
There was a long pause before someone spoke again.
"If I let you hit me, will you forgive us and stay? We really did have a surprise for you," Nikki said.
I frowned at him and shrugged. "I don't know, Nik."
"C'mon. You'll feel better if you hit me," Nikki insisted.
Vince laughed. "I know I always do."
"If you say so..." I muttered slowly, watching Nikki jump to his feet. He held a hand out for me to take as he helped me up.
"But, if you hit me, you have to stay. That's the only rule," Nikki reminded me, watching me carefully for a reaction.
I shrugged. "Fine. Let's just get this over with."
Grinning from ear to ear, Nikki bent his knees until his face was level with my own. Still smiling, he turned his face slightly, giving me full access to his left cheek.
"Go on. I'm ready for ya'," Nikki urged me.
I glanced slightly down at the rest of the Crüe, as if asking for their permission. Tommy was gazing at us intently, his mouth hanging open in delight as he waited for my hand to connect with Nikki's cheek. Vince was looking straight at me, giving me a thumbs up of approval once we locked eyes. Even Mick seemed to be smirking up at me, encouraging me to hit his bandmate.
"Here I go..." I began slowly, raising my open palm and lining it up with Nikki's face. "One..."
Nikki clamped his eyes shut.
"Two..."
I spread my legs slightly to get into a better position to deliver Nikki optimal pain.
"Three!"
My hand sprung forward, colliding with Nikki's face. I watched his body soar through the air from the impact, before following his face to the floor. He lay there in silence for a few moments while the guys and I gaped down at him in shock.
"Nice shootin', Tex!" Vince applauded. Tommy and Mick began to clap along with him.
"Ten outta' ten! What a knock out!" Tommy agreed.
Ignoring their cheers, I sauntered over to Nikki's body and nudged him lightly with my foot.
"You okay?" I asked softly, hoping that only he could hear me. I didn't want the rest of the guys knowing that I was feeling bad for hitting him.
"Damn, Winter. You sure got a good arm," Nikki moaned.
I watched him with a smirk. He seemed to be in a daze as he clumsily sat himself upright. He slowly turned to face me and gave me a far away smile. I wondered if maybe I'd somehow managed to knock his brain straight out of his ear.
"Are you going to stay? Can I show you the surprise?" Nikki croaked, his eyes seeming to search for me through whatever haze he was in.
I chuckled lightly to myself and shook my head. "Sure, Nik. But I still hate you."
