The party was everything it was said to be and more. The house, the bonfire, the people, the music, the lights, the alcohol, everything. As soon as we were through the door Ryan seemed to disappear into the crowd. I took a deep breath, wishing he had a little more self-control. Yes, I was used to him running off with some of his college friends and doing stupid things. He'd come find me in an hour or two after he's had his fun...

"Didn't imagine Ryan would be dragging you out here!" A hand fell on my shoulder. I turned to see Kyle standing there, his ever present smile plastered across his face.

"I don't even know why he wants me here. He just runs off and leaves me around with a bunch of strangers." I caught a glimpse of Ryan joining some guys playing beer pong in the kitchen and sighed.

"He just likes having you close is all. Besides, I"m not a stranger! Let's get you a drink and have some fun, yeah?" Kyle started steering me through the crowd and I got one last glimpse of Ryan before my view was blocked by people and walls.

I have to give it to Kyle, when he says he's gonna show you a good time, he means a good time. I swear he knew every single person at the party. It wasn't long before he convinced me to start drinking and let loose a little bit. Somehow someway I ended up on a couch next to Ryan an hour or two later.

Ryan was a bit odd when he had too much to drink. At first he would be loud and rambunctious, the kind of guy whose trying to jump off the roof and fly, yeah. Then, he would get all quiet and kind of serious. He was strange, but he was mine.

"Who are you texting?" I glanced over his arm to see a blank screen and chuckled. I had alcohol in my system, yes, but I was nowhere near as gone as Ryan was.

"You're a good person." Ryan mumbled, his arm falling around my shoulders. "You make me happy." I was getting better at not blushing when he would say these kinds of things to me, but I still smiled. "I'm sorry I broke my promise, I really don't want you to be mad. I'm really sorry." His head fell on my shoulder where he hid his face in the crook of my neck.

I couldn't really be mad at him, could I? I mean, I said that I wasn't going to drink at all and here I was with another empty cup in my hand. I kissed him on the cheek and ran my fingers through his hair, idly telling him that it was okay. Then, his phone went off and a very disgusting and very naked Zack appeared on his screen. I froze. In reality, I only hesitated for half a millisecond before snatching the phone from his lap and unlocking it; however, my entire world stopped and I felt my heart crack just a little.

I opened his phone and saw that they had been texting since about half an hour after we arrived at the party. I got off the couch, I had to get away from him if I was going to read his messages. I don't care if snooping through someone's phone is wrong, he told me that he was done with Zack and now this was on his phone. I wanted to vomit and cry at the same time.

Ryan: "Hey, I miss you."

Zack: "I figured you would ;)"

Ryan: "You should come to the party."

Zack: "Is your little fag there?"

Ryan: "Jay is here."

Zack: "I'll kill him if I see him."

Ryan: "But I want to see you."

Zack sent a picture that I will not describe to you.

Ryan: "I meant you're other head, but that works too babe ;)"

Zack: "You'r turn."

I dropped the phone on the front porch. It sounded pretty bad when it hit the concrete, but it might as well have been a million miles away. Ryan had...he was...I just...my head was spinning. I couldn't decide whether to be upset or angry, but my eyes decided to cry.

"My phone," Ryan grumbled as he picked up the shattered screen.

"You promised me," I looked at him through bleary eyes. "YOU SAID THAT-YOU-" I turned and ran. I didn't know where I was going, or how I planned on getting there since my car was back at his apartment, but I ran.

Tears were pouring down my face as I struggled to focus on breathing and not falling down. I ran into someone, though, and fell onto the ground.

"Watch where you're going you-"

"Heyheyheyhey," Kyle seemed to materialize out of nowhere before the guy I ran into had a chance to beat me into oblivion. That actually sounded kind of nice right about now. "Chill out man, he's just had a bit too much tonight, alright?" The guy shoved Kyle out of his way and continued walking. I kept crying. "What's wrong, Jay? C'mon, tell me about it."

"Ry-Ryan-he's been-he's texting-and I can't-" was about all I could make myself say.

"You wanna go home?" I just nodded my head. Kyle glared back at the house before bending down and scooping me off the ground.

"Hey, Kyle, are we going or what?" Some girl was standing beside his car in only her underwear. Yeah, because that's not trashy at all. Here I am, a crying mess, and I'm still passing judgment on people. At least my personality will be intact.

"I'm busy, go back to the party." Kyle shrugged her off and slipped me into the passenger seat. It made more sense as to why he was glaring at the house, he was about to get lucky. Of course, he got lucky every other day so I didn't quite get why he was so upset. At the same time, though, my heart swelled at the fact that he was giving up his fuckboy-ness to help me. I had good friends.

The girl's jaw was dropped, but that didn't stop Kyle from starting the car and driving away. He kept glancing over at me as I continued to hold in my sobs and not cry out loud.

"You can crash in my dorm with me, if you want? Or I could take you over to Derek's?" Kyle tried. He wasn't very good at the whole comforting thing, but he was trying. I pulled myself together, or as together as I could and shook my head.

"My car is at Ryan's...I just want to go home."

.............

I won't speak to him. I won't. He made his decision, sober or not. He picked Zack. I made it home okay, after pulling over to cry twice. I really should have just let Kyle take me to Derek's and talked things out with him, but I can't. They're his friends. Well...they've been there for me in the past too right? I don't even know. It's been a week since the incident and I have a Halloween Party next week, so maybe I can just-

My phone started ringing again. I glanced down at it, my eyes completely out of tears to shed. It was Derek. I picked it up and answered it. "Hello?"

"We need to talk."
