YOU SHIVERED QUIETLY along side your bestfriend, alyssa, while you both waited patiently in the line for the haunted house. butterflies swarmed endlessly in your stomach as you anticipated the horrors ahead-- something about halloween and jump-scares gave you an exciting thrill but also made you extremely anxious.

alyssa took note of how quiet you were, giggling a bit to herself when she realized you were actually scared even. she nudged your arm playfully before teasing you. "what? are you scared?"

you rolled your eyes with a smile, nudging her with a little more force than she had. "no, fuck you."

you two both laughed, walking up in line and mocking each other about your equal anxiety about the horrors ahead.

somehow, you managed not to completely spaz from the few scary pop-ups here and there, which proved to alyssa that you were in fact much braver than what she thought of you to be.

or maybe you thought too soon.

it wasn't until the most ghastly, gory-looking clown came out of a wall that you became extremely petrified. you cried, screamed, and ran without looking back for alyssa, and without thinking you quickly hung on to a boy in front of you. you proceeded to apologize with tears of fear streaming down your face as you still held him for life, but he only laughed at this and said that it was okay every time.

when it became apparent that you were not letting go, the mystery boy ultimately decided to hold you under his arm until you two were out the house. he provided much comfort even though you didn't know what he looked like-- his loose curly hair was the only thing noticeable to you.

when you finally exited the house, you were able to let your stranger go and catch a breath after screaming the whole time. you froze when you were able to catch a good at him however, he was way more familiar than you thought.

"scary, wasn't it?" he asked you, smiling.

"y-yeah. very," you replied nervously. "uh...thank you for helping me in there."

"it was really nothing," he shrugged. "i'm finn by the way."

"oh i know who you are alright," you laughed. "i'm y/n."

"well y/n," he said as he pulled out a small piece of paper and pen before scribbling onto it. "if you ever need help again, scary or not, you should call me," he said once again smiling at you, before walking off with a group of friends.

"y/n!" alyssa screamed. "was that finn wolfhard you were holding on to?"

"yes," you laughed. "yes it was."
