TODAY HAD BEEN LIKE most days, where finn and one of his best friends, y/n l/n, were hanging out in his bedroom. they committed the most childish actions one could think of, all while laughing and reminiscing the moments they've had together in the past. it never got too old for them.
"remember when your head got stuck in between your neighbor's fence bars?" finn laughed about, causing y/n to playfully slap his arm.
"that shit was not funny!" she defended, while she also laughed.
it was around this time that the friends' eyes would meet each others', they were both curious about the feelings they withheld but was also too afraid to acknowledge it. without a doubt finn had a crush on y/n since they met in kindergarden, and that feeling never went away as they got older.
y/n felt the same way too frankly. she'd never admit it though, for fear that finn did not feel for her as she did he. but little did she know that today, finn was going to admit the feelings they've kept secret since their younger years.
"y/n," he projected nervously. "can i ask you something?"
god did she hate those five words formed into a question.
a pit of anxiousness filled her stomach as she thought about what he'd ask her and whether it was good or bad.
"sure?" she replied uneasy.
"would you be my girl- my girlfriend?"
y/n was shocked to say the least, her heart filled with emotions she did not know she had. she was overjoyed and happy, even more so now that she knew finn felt for her the way she did for him.
"yes finn, i would let you call me your girlfriend!"
"yeahhhhhh!"
