Kara and Rick ended up in different places thanks to all of Alex and Aaron's clues to where they were heading. They were close to the Oasis. As they made their way by a river, they heard water and it couldn't be the water from the river below them. They were looking ahead when they heard Izzy. "We're in trouble!" he screamed. Ardeth, Kara, Rick, and Jonathan turned and saw a big wave of water coming towards them. "Whoa!" Jonathan exclaimed. "Horus, fly!" Ardeth commanded his eagle who flew. "Izzy, come hard right! Starboard! Starboard!" O'Connell told him. Izzy did manage to get away but Imhotep's barely managed to get them. "Was there something you forgot to mention?" Izzy asked O'Connell who ignored him and hugged his wife. "Uh, people" Jonathan called the others. They all turned to him and saw the place they were looking for. "Ahm Shere," Ardeth said as they all watched the beautiful place. O'Connell saw the pyramid. They heard a rumbling noise. Imhotep was behind them once again. "He's back!" Izzy yelled. "Hang on!" Izzy yelled as he pulled the lever and their little air balloon sped up and failed. "Well that is not good," Izzy said as the air balloon stopped. "Hang on!" O'Connell yelled as Imhotep reached them.
But, they survived. "We're gonna go get our sons. Then we're gonna wanna get out of here fast, so make this work, Izzy" O'Connell told him as they were looking around the wreckage. "No, no, you don't understand, goddamn it. This thing was filled with gas. Not hot air... Gas. I need gas to get this thing off the ground. Where am I gonna get gas from around here? Huh? Bananas? Mangos? Tarzan's ass?" Izzy asked him. As the rest of them got the things they could save. "Well, maybe I could finagle it to take hot air. But do you know how many cubic meters I'd need? It's too big!" Izzy exclaimed. Small explosions were going around the air balloon. "If anybody can fill this thing up with hot air, Izzy, it's you," O'Connell told him as he patted his arm. Izzy simply stared at him. O'Connell, Kara, Ardeth, and Jonathan made their way into the jungle.
"So, Rick, what's the plan?" Jonathan asked. "Let's find some higher ground" he and Kara answered at the same time. They both looked at each other and smiled. As they made their way, they heard a gunshot and they all stopped. "Horus!" Ardeth yelled as he looked around. "I must go" he spoke. "Where?" O'Connell asked. "I muse let the commanders know where we are" he replied. "You can't go," O'Connell told him. "If the Army of Anubis arises..." Kara cut him off. "Ardeth, please. We need your help. I need to find my sons, please" Ardeth looked at Rick and Jonathan and then back at her. She grabbed his hand. "Please" she begged and Kara Croft never asked for help. He nodded. "Then first, I shall help you," he told her. She let out a sigh. "Thank you" they continued to make their way.
NIGHT
Kara, Ardeth, Jonathan, and Kara were hiding higher than where the others were walking. "Do you hear that?" O'Connell asked Ardeth. "What?" Ardeth asked. "Nothing" O'Connell replied. "Absolutely nothing" O'Connell added. Kara and O'Connell looked at each other. "We'll get the boys back no matter what" he nodded before he kissed her.
