Karma is a Beach

After some time, we found ourselves parked outside a hospital waiting for someone to come out.

"So it's your jealousy that dragged you here. That dragged us here," I stated, smiling sarcastically.

Kinaladkad niya lang naman ako dito just to stalk his ex-girlfriend!

May pa good step good step pang nalalaman, patay na patay pa rin naman.

"What are you whispering?"

"Huh? I'm talking to myself," nakangusong palusot ko. I thought I just blurted it through my mind.

Maya-maya lang ay lumabas na si President together with two big guys. When I say big, they are really big. Matatangkad at may kalakihan ang mga katawan. Hindi naman mukhang nakakatakot pero halatang malalaking tao talaga kahit may kalayuan sila sa aming puwesto.

Kanina ay kasama niyang pumasok 'yong lalaking palagi niyang kasama sa school so I concluded it's because of jealousy that Ivan decided to follow them.

"So, ano nga? Are we just gonna stalk your ex-girlfriend?" nagtitimping tanong ko.

Gosh, hindi pa 'ko kumakain!

Ok, ang lakas makahawa ni Ma'am Diaz.

"No, not really. I just wanna check her out."

"Check her out? Kaklase mo na nga at nasa iisang room lang kayo and you're not done yet checking her out?" I tried my best not to sound sarcastic or anything. Curious lang.

"It's not that. She seemed really off kanina and, gloomy. Masyadong matamlay kahit nakangiti palagi. Something's bothering her. And now na dito siya pumunta, with her uncles, I guess I know already what it is."

"What it is then?" Totoo na akong na-curious.

He sighed and glanced at me like weighing if he's gonna tell me or not.

Nag-iwas na lang ako ng tingin. He's not obliged to tell me at ayokong isipin niya 'yon nang dahil lang interesado akong malaman. I was never a gossip and never will.

"It's her father." Saglit akong natigilan at tumango nang bahagya habang nakatingin pa rin sa unahan, implying that I'm listening but will not ask questions. Will just let him talk.

"Bianca's father has coronary heart disease. Madalas itong ma-stroke dati but the last time I checked, mabuti na ang lagay nito. So, I didn't expect na babalik siya sa hospital, in not that long span of time."

So he's still checking out even her family. He really cares.

Hindi ko napigilang mangiti pero agad nawala when the real news sunk in to me.

So that explains why Bianca is the one managing their other business. Nakaramdam ako ng pag-aalala. She's my boss and kahit isang araw pa lang ang pagtatrabaho ko sa kaniya, last Sunday, she's really appraochable and nice. I can't believe that behind her smiling face, she has something in her shoulders. Mahirap pa namang makitang nakaratay sa hospital bed ang tatay mo or kahit sinong mahalaga sa'yo.

"Then why are we secretly checking her out instead of visiting her father? Siguro naman magkakilala kayo ng tatay niya, and I think Bianca would appreciate it if she knew you're still this concerned about her and her family," I suggested. I saw small smile gently escaped his lips as his sad eyes landed on mine.
