"Brice, there is food for you and Miss Savana, Anderson is on his way so you'll need to eat fast or offer him some food as well." KK tells Brice as he comes in.
"Where's Savana?" Brice asks looking around for her.
"I'm not sure, I think she went up to her room."
"Good thinking to have Jasper bring her some clothes. I didn't want any of them men to think that she is more than she is." Brice says not finding the right words to say.
"I didn't, Jasper did that on his own. He didn't want her embarrassed by being in her night clothes when she leaves the panic room this morning."
"Was it your idea or his to give the box of condoms?" KK chokes on the swallow of coffee he was taking when Brice asks him that.
"He gave you a box of condoms? Where the hell did he get those?" KK demands of himself, he's thinking furiously of where Jasper could have gotten something like that so quickly. The housekeeper would be willing to get it for him, just is unlikely that she would have been able to get it just yet.
"That, KK, I have no idea.
"Do you know what the fuck Anderson is doing coming back here?" Brice wipes his face. Just thinking about tonight is making him tired.
"Not a clue, but I don't think he's coming alone, which means it's likely about tonight's little raid. Should we have our men just take the girl or should they do their usual?"
"Kill the entire mafia if they can, but if not their first objective is to get the girl and get out. If they can kill the mafia then they are welcome to do so. The less men left alive the more money we are saving the tax payers."
"You know you are taking a risk doing this."
"I'm taking the biggest fucking risk of my life doing this. If any one of the mafia recognize my men and talks then I'm going to have a target painted on my back. I have no clue just how much I can trust Director Bishop."
"You can trust me about as much as I can trust you. You have a reputation of holding fast to deals made. As long as you don't cross me, I won't come after you. Just like if I don't cross you I won't have you coming after me."
Brice smirks, "Is that so? So, even if you had proof that I was neck deep in illegal dealings you wouldn't come after me?"
"I have absolutely no doubt that you are up to your eyebrows in illegal dealings. I also happen to know that there are lines you won't cross. I would rather have some one with some morality left in them in charge and keeping the others in line then one of the others that has no morality left in charge and crime increasing exponentially. I have no doubt that you are beyond trouble, and I have no doubt that just getting Sheila out of there isn't your only motive. I think you want me in your debt."
Brice smiles the reptilian smile he would never show Savana at Bishop's words. "You are ever so correct, Director. This particular mafia has been culling girls from my territory. They broke the treaty they made with me and now they need to pay the price."
"Will there even be any people left for my people to take in?" Bishop sighs in defeat.
Brice laughs outright. "Hopefully not, but they have orders to find and secure your granddaughter first and foremost. They will be given shoot to kill orders on any that recognize them. I can't have word getting out that I'm working with the FBI. It will paint a target on my back."
"It would be easier if I hadn't insisted on bringing my men in, wouldn't it?" Director Bishop says frowning.
Brice rolls his eyes, "Infinitely, but my men know what they are doing and the other slaves will need more than I'm willing to give at this time.
"Word of warning, if your granddaughter makes any move towards me, I will not be responsible for her health and safety any longer. I will not allow Sheila to harm Savana." Brice's voice is hard and cold and Bishop, well everyone in that room heard the promise in his threat.
"I don't see how Sheila will hurt Miss Carter," Anderson speaks for the first time.
"The two you brought over yesterday? They are like brothers to Savana, they were a little more forthcoming than Savana was. Grayson had to threaten Sheila to stay away from Savana. Apparently it is because of Sheila that Savana wasn't able to get or keep friends other than the boys.
"She thinks that because I dated females that look much like your granddaughter that I'll want to be with her over Savana. I have no desire to be near Sheila, so once she comes out, keep her away from me. I'll have my men hand her off directly to your medic to look over and then I'll be leaving. You can debrief my men at that time if you wish and get whatever reports you need, but I'm not going to be around the one person that has made Savana's life difficult even before she lost everything." Brice says and there is a cold glint in his eyes that make the other three want to take a step back.
Anderson is the first to speak. Shrugging he says, "That's your right. It's your men that will be needing to give us information any way. How would Sheila being near you at the extraction location be a problem though?"
"I will be bringing Savana with me. I feel that although my men are well trained that will be left here, that I won't be comfortable leaving her behind. There shouldn't be any problems with our location, we should be safe enough and I'll have several men that will be carrying as well."
"Of course." Jonah says softly. He knows his friend though and there is something more, something he's not saying.
There is a knock at the door, "Boss, is it alright if she comes in?" Johnson asks sticking his head in and seeing that there is company.
"Yes, of course. I'm sure that they would like to assure themselves that she is safe and unharmed." Brice tells the bodyguard.
He turns back to the feds, "She spoke a bit to me. She said that she still isn't comfortable speaking all the time, but she has started speaking."
This news makes Anderson smile. He knew it was the right play to have Savana go with Brice.
"Brice? Oh, I didn't know you had company." Savana says coming in. She halts abruptly when she sees the feds there.
"Please, come in, Miss Carter. It's good to see that you came to no harm last night."
"No, I was well protected." Savana manages to say in the threadiest whisper Brice has ever heard.
"Would you like to borrow my iPad, Miss Carter?" KK offers and Savana thanks him using sign as she takes his iPad.
