Once they get in the car there is a thick tension but no one is sure how to break it. "Do you think that she died or will die?" Grayson finally asks, but he's careful just to allow curiosity to color his tone. If Savana thinks for even a second that he's worried about Sheila she'll be hurt again.
As it is, Savana is looking at Grayson coldly for his question and he inwardly winces. "That depends on what was on the needle. I would like to thank you both. I would have pushed her off of me if she had actually made it to me, but with Savana there she never had the chance to get near me. I have no doubt that she fully intended to stick that damn needle in me as soon as she got to me.
"As for you, Grayson, thank you for stopping her. I wouldn't have been in time. I hadn't seen her lift her hand up until after you grabbed it. I was angry enough at her daring to slap Savana I wouldn't have looked further.
"How did you know to do so?" Brice is very interested in that.
"It's a little trick she used to do to Savana when they were younger. She would find an excuse to slap her and she would always leave scratches behind. Some of them were fairly deep. One even needed stitches I believe."
With this information Brice widens his eyes before narrowing them once more. "Where, your face?" Brice turns on the light and looks at her carefully.
"No, on my arm is where I needed stitches. There are a couple on my back that left scars and one on my stomach."
"Shit." KK says staring at her in shock and then he turns to Grayson. "After that kind of abuse to Savana you still went out with her?"
Brice is also looking narrowly at Grayson at this point. "You are just damn lucky that she forgave you. I wouldn't have. I had no idea that she had abused Savana to that point. If I had, I would have had my men make sure to kill her rather than bring her out."
"You would have gone to jail, Brice, if you had done that. What she has done to me, was done long ago. I just never knew why.
"I told you about my friend that was saying that I made her sick, I was so sweet all the time?" Savana says and can't look at Brice.
"Yes, I remember," Brice says thinking over what she had written.
"My friend had been talking to Sheila and her coterie at the time."
"Yeah, and all four of them started following Sheila around like a little lost puppy dogs after that. All four of them went to a party where Grant made a bet that he could bang the most girls. All four of them ended up pregnant by him that night." Grayson expounds on her statement.
The two mafia men look at Savana more than a little sick at what they were hearing.
"I told you, that he was the biggest player in school. At least he was after Jasper and Grayson here graduated." Savana's words once more bring the two's attention to the, now, wildly blushing male sitting next to Savana.
"Oh, please, neither of you are all that innocent and I highly doubt you were at school."
KK gives out a bark of laughter at Savana's very accurate words. All three of them were players and didn't do much to find someone to be with. "You got it in one, Savana."
Brice looks at her a bit worriedly, "Does that bother you?"
Savana shrugs, "Why would it? I don't care what you did when you were in school. What I care about is how you treat me. If you are going to cheat on me, I'll pack my bag and leave in the morning. No hard feelings and a great deal of gratitude. If you can promise me that you will never cheat on me, I'll stay. At least for now."
"I promise, I will never cheat on you. If there ever comes a time when someone else some how grabs my attention I will break up with you first." Brice promises, then whispers, "Although, I don't see how any one could take my attention away from you." Then he leans down and kisses her gently.
"Sis, you never said how the interview with the dean went." Grayson says to break the new awkward tension.
"Brice did most of the talking. I wrote things when necessary, but Brice was the one that talked into deferring my physical presence and allowing me to take online classes this year. He said that after that they would look at my situation and make changes as necessary. He said that he would make sure that I could have my scholarship next year, but that they would go ahead and award it to someone else this year.
"I was fine with that.
"Then he walked us through the steps of enrolling online. He had his secretary change my status to online and that means that another person on the waiting list will be able to go there in a few weeks.
"After that we went ahead and enrolled in the classes and ordered the books and materials I would need for class. Then we spent time going about the campus.
"After that we called the driver and he came and picked us up and took us to where you were."
"So my little sister is enrolled in classes and ready for school in a few weeks. Crazy how fast time has gone." Grayson says smiling gently at Savana.
"The dean also said that he would make sure that her teachers are aware that she won't be participating in class by talking but she can type her answers. He said that they shouldn't have a problem with that and if any give her problems to bring them to him. He said the last thing they need is a discrimination lawsuit.
"I told him that we would, but if issues still came up with the same professor that we would file a lawsuit against the professor specifically and the school in general." Brice was a bit smug about that. It was obvious that the dean knew what he was or at least had heard some rumors. By the time they had left the dean's office the man was sweating buckets.
They made sure to get a receipt for the enrollment fees for online before leaving the admin building and looking over the rest of campus.
After that things lagged and Savana started falling asleep once more.
Brice didn't want to wake her this time, so he carefully handed her over to Grayson once he got out. Grayson gave her back once Brice was out and made sure to open doors for him.
The others go to their own rooms but Brice takes her to his. "You just want to sleep, Goldie?" Brice could tell that she woke up.
"I feel a bit icky. Sheila is a polluting person just by being in her presence. I would like to shower before going to bed." Her words make Brice smile.
"That can be arranged. Would you like company?"
"I've never showered with any one before."
"I didn't ask if you had. I asked if you would like company. If you would prefer to be alone, you will be." Brice tells her while nuzzling her hair and neck.
"Is it nice to shower with some one?" Savana asks a bit breathlessly.
"It can be." Brice answers and she nods. After that Brice takes her to his bathroom and starts the shower.
He makes sure that she enjoys that shower very much. He keeps it up for as long as he can tolerate holding off. Then takes her back to his room after drying her and himself off.
That night neither of them got much sleep as he showed her just how much he cares for her.
