Been a few years later.
Me and James have done many notorious kills and many devils nights together. Me and the countess sometimes clash into each other in the hallways but we've never had a proper conversation together. Me and Will have gotten closer and you could say we're close friends. Me and Liz are best friends you could say. I've been introduced to Alex, Holden and John but never had the pleasure of meet their daughter Scarlet, but I've seen photos of her and heard stories of her. She sounds nice. Me and Sally are friends but we sometimes don't see eye to eye. Me and James and I haven't ever properly fallen out except for when a minor thing happens and we don't see eye to eye. I've been craving for a family of my own, the Cortez family wasn't good enough for my desperate need. I needed my own family, with James. I know I'm dead but who says I still couldn't raise a dead child? James vowed parenthood isn't what it seems but I doubt he hasn't even had a taste of it, I think anyway... none of my family members or friends have returned to the Cortez and I heard my father left the hospital in good condition and my mum decided for a divorce. He then tried to kill himself again - and succeeded. I found out through Iris, but it was a few years ago and nobody could save him. I know that now. Kai tries to talk to me but I always walk away.
James removed his mask as we had tied the woman against the bed frame using rope.
"What did she do?" I whispered in James ear.
"She is protecting the killer who is murdering the innocent families" James informed me. I pulled a disgusted look to her. There's been a murderer going around killing families in the night for a few months now. He's a cautious killer.
"How evil" I snarled.
"No no no no. You have it all wrong" she begged as she tried to stand up but the rope repented and held her back. I slowly walked over to her bag and began to search through - curiosity gets the best of me.
"How cowardly to protect a man who wouldn't go the same for you. I'm sure he will throw you under the bus once he's caught my dear" James said to the woman. I dropped her bag on her bed and it spooked her.
"Oh my god... you're Grace, you died in the Cortez six years ago... and you're James Patrick March. You should be dead" said the woman. She was shaking in her voice and stopped struggling with the rope.
"You've done some research" I smiled.
"Enough chit-chat!" James put his mask back on and revealed a hunters knife. He crawled on top of the woman and stabbed her in the stomach. I just observed.
"While you bleed out, I suggest you rethink your decisions. Mrs. Smith" James spat at the woman. He got off her and she was coughing up blood and couldn't breathe.
"M-My bag..." she sounded like a smoker from her breathing issues. I raised an eyebrow and looked in her bag and pulled out her purse. She nodded her head at me as she gasped for air. I looked in and it was a photo of her and her two children. A boy and girl, there was no father in the photo and the children seemed young.
"James..." I showed him the photo and he just sighed.
"Oh well" he shrugged his shoulders as he walked out the room, knowing I would want to get to the bottom of what she was trying to show me.
"You... are protecting the killer so he doesn't hurt your two children?" I asked her. She nodded her head at me as she gasped for air. A sudden wave of sadness and confusion hit me. I looked down at the ground and gave her the photo and she tugged on it.
"I'm so sorry..." I whispered to her as I removed the hair from her face.
"As crazy as this sounds, I need to make sure you don't die in here so I'm going to do something, okay?" I whispered to her. She nodded her head at me frantically as more and more blood sinked into the bed sheets. I removed the rope from her wrists and I carried her in bridal style. I ran down to the lowest floor and I saw Iris at the front desk.
"The hospital... NOW!" I demanded to Iris. She seemed confused since I have never shown mercy to my victims.
"Whaaaa-?" Iris hurried from behind the desk and she took the woman off me.
"She doesn't deserve to die, she has a family" I informed Iris.
"Oh.. okay" Iris hurried out without a question. I looked down at my outfit and saw it was drowned in blood.
"Didn't know you still had a soft spot"
I turned around and saw Kai.
"Oh please" I tried to hurry away but he grabbed my wrist.
"Get-off-me" I snarled.
"Not until you hear what I have to say" he begged. I tried to get out his grip and he was stronger.
"Grace, please-"
"Let her go..."
me and Kai both looked over to see the countess strolling over. Kai hesitantly let me go and I stepped away from him so he couldn't grab me again.
"Let me get you a drink" the countess said to me.
"Kind offer. I must refuse" I tried to walk away but she said something else to me.
"We haven't talked for a while, we must catch up" she said to me. I looked back at her and smiled.
"It's the Cortez, I'm sure news gets around" I hurried away before she could say otherwise. Suddenly, I had the urge to turn around and I slowly turned around and saw Billie Dean Howard roll in with her camera crew.
"Ugh not again" I moaned as I walked over to stand next to Kai and the countess. We had made ourselves invisible to the crew - park of being dead I suppose. Billie walked over to the front desk and rung the bell. Liz opened the door behind the desk and smiled.
"A reservation?" Liz asked.
"Yes, under the name Billie D-" Liz cut her off.
"Billie Dean Howard. Third time this month" Liz sighed as she grabbed a key and dropped it in her hands.
"Room 32. I asked for room 64" Billie reminded, seeming a little taken back.
"That room is off-limits. That's the best you're gonna get" Liz said with sassiness that I loved about her.
"Okay.. okay" Billie said in defeat. She shouted for room 32 and the ghosts in the lobby watched her walk to the elevator.
"When Will she learn?" I mumbled to myself. Liz walked over and stood beside me and crossed her arms.
"Never" Liz sighed.
