2 Months and 4 years later
Jordan
"I need a couple of hours. You think you can stall her that long?""Jordan this is wrong man. Just tell her. I feel bad lying to her."
"Lontavious, just stall her. Kierra is easily distracted."
Blowing out a breath, I hang up the phone. Looking to the driver's seat, I smile. Samantha smiles back. "Ok I bought us a few hours."
3 hours later
I wave at Samantha as she drives away from the house.
While in our Sophomore year of college me and Kierra both hit it big. She became a high end editor for romance books, and she's published a few of her own that all hit bestseller. I started my own company that completely flew off the ground. As soon as we graduated college, we bought our dream house together.
College was hard, but our relationship didn't stagger at all. I love her just as much as I loved her in high school.
The gang all still kept in touch. Everyone came home after college, other than Lontavious who's still in school. Travis decided to work with his hands and went into designing and building phones. Comes in handy when we can get the newest phone weeks before everyone else.
Jess wanted to be an interior designer. Her dream came true.
Cameron still has his gang, and they're flourishing.
My phone ringing brings me out of thought.
"So this what we doing?" I take a deep breath.
"Hey princess."
"Don't 'hey princess' me. What the fuck Jordan?"
"What exactly are you mad at?"
"Why? You've done multiple things for me to be mad at?" I smile.
"Actually I haven't done anything. Where you at?"
"I gotta go."
"Babygirl get your ass home now." The warning in my voice is clear.
"Or what?" I smile at the smile in her voice.
"Get here."
"Whatever, ok."After saying our "I love you"s and "be careful", I hang up. Looking around the house, I make sure nothing is out of order.
Going into the bedroom, I take a shower. Kierra was with Lontavious and they were in the next town over.
Getting dressed, I sit on the edge of the bed and wait for the house alarm to speak , telling me Kierra was here.
Soon enough, the alarm goes off and I hear Kierra open the front door. She's silent as she makes her way up the stairs.
Grabbing the box off the bed, I take my 100th deep breath of the day.
Kierra enters the room with tears in her eyes. I get on one knee.
"Kierra Lashay Rogers. I have known you since I was 17 years old. I have been in love with you since I was 17 years old. You have given me love, and a reason to be the greatest person I can be. Your kindness, creativity, your mind, your heart has all made me fall in love with you. Through the good and the bad, you've stuck with me. Through our times of arguments and pain, not once have you given up on me or our love. You've made me the happiest man alive. Do you wish to make it forever? Will you marry me?"
She falls to her knees and wraps her arms around my neck. "Yes. Yes. Yes." She hugs me tighter and laughs. "Oh my God."
I wrap my arms around her and smile. Letting her go, I open the box and put the ring on her finger.
