Kierra's POV
Once April asked who wants a brownie I was the first one to say speak. This of course made me blush. If it were anything else I wouldn't have said anything, but brownies are my favorite desert.
They all laugh at me. Jordan raises an eyebrow, looking at me expectantly. I shrug, the floor suddenly finding itself interesting. "Brownies may be my favorite desert." Jordan smiles and kisses the top of my head.
He walks over to talk to his mom, while Jr approaches and smiles while he wiggles his eyebrows, making me laugh. "How long have you known J?" I quickly avoid eye contact, mumbling my response. "This is the second day I've seen or knew him." Saying he looks shocked is an understatement.
"How did you two end up so close?" I shrug. "Your guess is about as good as mines. Yesterday, we talked a little. Today he showed up a little early for school and we talked a... little more. Then there was a disagreement and I left. He went after me and we talked, got food, and came here." I blushed as I said the last part, remembering the kiss we shared. Well I guess you could say kisses we shared.
He looked at me in awe. Then he said the words that—though a heart-warming surprise— I never expected to hear. "I am glad to have you as another little sister." I've always wanted a brother.
Jordan's POV
After laughing at Kierra's excitement towards the brownies, I found out her favorite desert is brownies. That's good to know for future references.
I went to my mom, and she asked me what I know she has been dying to get an answer to. "What happened with Jessica?" I sigh as I explain to her what happened in a summary.
"Her and Kierra were, I guess, friends when I first bumped into Kierra in the hallway. It's just like I told you before, only she was walking with Jess and Jess kept walking when Kierra bumped into me. Kierra was pissed that Jess left her to defend herself alone against me, her words not mine. Then earlier today when Jess saw me and Kierra talking, she said some hurtful things to Kierra that hit her where it hurt. Kierra explained how what she said was false and left mad. I told Jess she fucked up and went after Kierra. So basically that's what happened." Ma looked angry and was shaking her head.
She told me what she wanted me to do. I refused at first, but she threatened to not give Kierra any brownies. Do you know how messed up that is? She is making me do something by threatening to not give Kierra what she wants. Seriously?
Kierra's POV
Jordan looked guilty when he walked over to me, and I unconsciously took a step back. He looked hurt and guiltier than before.
He handed me a brownie and gave me a small smile. Smiling, I mumbled a thank you. I took a bite of the brownie and couldn't help the small moan that came out.
The flavor literally exploded in my mouth. This is the best brownie I've ever had. And that's saying a lot because I have an addiction to brownies.
I look up to see Jr holding in a laugh, and April shaking her head with a smile on her face. Jordan's eyes were darker than before. I tilted my head in confusion before I understood, making my cheeks burn.
Jordan shook his head looking dazed before he smiled at me and said he had to make a phone call. I was confused as to why he walked off, but decided it was none of my business.
Me and April started talking, as Jr walked off in the same direction Jordan went. It's the room you're in when you first walk in, which I'm guessing is the living room.
I was laughing at a joke April made about Jr when Jordan walked in with his head down. He grabbed my hand and steered us up the stairs to his room.
