The next day came and it was time to go home. Time to do a 7-hour journey again. Great. However, the sun was already up since it was nearing the summer months; it was a pleasant temperature even though it was early morning. May has always been the perfect month for weather, in Tae-young's opinion.
Both Tae-young and Hyeong-jun were especially sleepy that morning. And it definitely showed. They were barely keeping their eyes open, Hyeong-jun stood and rested on his suitcase for support. All students and teachers stood outside the hostel, waiting for the busses to pick them up.
"Wow, did you two sleep bad last night or what?" Jung-mo joked, nudging Hyeong-jun.
He just responded with a yawn. Tae-young hugged him from behind leaning his chin on his shoulder. His arms were wrapped around his torso, resting. Hyeong-jun would've normally been so incredibly goddamn flustered, but he knew that it was just because Tae-young was tired and wanted a surface to rest on. Maybe he was too tired himself to even feel any butterflies.
"I'm just not good at sleeping in foreign environments," Hyeong-jun said.
"True, the surface was terrible to sleep on," Won-jin said, sitting on top of his own suitcase, "I mean, why do we never go on field trips to hotels. Or someplace with real mattresses."
"I smell a stench from Class 3," Mr. Lee came over towards the group.
Se-kwon and Won-jin gasped loudly and did a pathetic attempt at hiding behind Se-rim and Jung-mo. It was almost straight out of a sitcom, Won-jin trying to hide directly behind Jung-mo.
"Literally who would fall for that?" Jung-mo laughed at them. Won-jin did a fake little growl at him and made a fist at him as he came back out from behind him.
"Go to your class or you'll have to walk home," Mr. Lee said, sending them back to their own class. Se-kwon and Won-jin left reluctantly, keeping the fire lit in the beef between them and Mr. Lee. He looked over at Tae-young and Hyeong-jun, giving the usual semi-disappointed teacher face, "Geez, did you two pull an all-nighter?"
"I'm not good at sleeping in foreign environments," Hyeong-jun said once again.
Tae-young just opened his eyes, still latching onto Hyeong-jun, and looked at Mr. Lee, "...same."
Mr. Lee shrugged it off and walked towards the other teachers to discuss something, probably ferry prices or something boring.
Hyeong-jun stood there and put his hand on top of Tae-young's arm around his torso, resisting the urge to intertwine their fingers. He quietly chuckled as he realized he greatly underestimated how tired they'd be this morning. The thing was, Hyeong-jun and Tae-young barely slept that night.
It was probably about 2-or-so AM when Hyeong-jun was awakened by a hand continuously poking him on his shoulder. He was sleepy, so he didn't really process what was happening until he opened his eyes and saw Tae-young looking at him, fresh as a daisy.
"W-what... what is it?" Hyeong-jun's voice was all groggy.
Tae-young leaned very close to him, faces only inches apart. Hyeong-jun got a little flustered, instantly moving his face away. Their eyes were staring directly into each other. Whenever Tae-young did things like that, he got startled.
"Let's sneak out," Tae-young whispered as to not wake up Jung-mo and Se-rim. It was dark, but Hyeong-jun could tell he had a playful look on his face.
Hyeong-jun's eyes widened and suddenly felt like he woke up. Do you know that kind of whispering that's aggressive kind of like yelling, but still quiet? That's what he was doing, "What? N-no! Are you kidding? We'll get in insane trouble if we get caught!"
