On arrival back at Hornet's agency, you meet a man you don't recognize.
(thank you @Goldeeluxe for doing this small crossover with me ^^ i hope i can do your lovely character justice)
"Ah- [Y/N]. Meet Monarch, he's... a friend," Hornet gestures towards the large man. The detail that your eyes go to first are his eyes, covered in eye shadow made to look like the wings of a butterfly, complete with the energy of Autumn.
To put it plainly, he's gorgeous. Prettier than anyone— hell, prettier than any model you've ever seen. Not to mention his presence... he's certainly got character, that's obvious. "Uhm... hello. I'm [Y/N] [L/N], it's a pleasure to meet you."
He takes your hand and kisses your knuckles. "The pleasure's all mine," his voice sounds smooth, soothing. Not in the same way as Hornet's deep, honey-like voice, but rather... something impossible to describe. Something too perfect to be comprehended by humans' senses and descriptive words.
Before you can get to know him at all, Monarch is gone, returning to the same mystery he came from. And Hornet isn't helpful either. All he does is say it's "grown up stuff." You sigh and start walking back to your room, but you're then informed that the interns are almost ending.
~~~
When the interns do end, you find UA as it was when the interns began. The only things that have really changed are you, Tenya, Shoto, and Deku. The other students notice it too, and they're not shy to point it out.
The four of you are all talking at Shoto's desk —with you awkwardly glancing at Shoto and Katsuki here and there, feeling slightly shameful, but also, strangely excited— while everyone else talks about their internships. Speaking of Katsuki... his internship with Best Jeanist has left him with a certain hairstyle. "Refined" is one word for it. "Posh" is another. On Katsuki in particular, however, it just looks wrong. Very wrong.
You rush over to his desk to assist him while the rest of the class pokes fun at him. Of course, your efforts have minimal results, which is partially because you spent too much time laughing with them to actually help, but that's besides the point.
When confronted about the Hero Killer incident, the four of you brush it off and say it was fine, that you were saved: everything you were told to say. It feels wrong, giving credit to the father— the abusive father— of one of the actual heroes of the situation. But it's better to give false credit than to take undeserved punishment.
All Might comes in, which determines that class is starting. The exercise for today is rescue training. Four students are to compete (with one group of five, due to Mineta joining the class) in a course to reach the goal before the rest. All Might stands at the goal, awaiting the winner. Easy enough, right?
In all honestly, you're slightly more excited for everyone else to see Deku's progress than to see you show off as usual. Maybe it's because of your slight mentor/student relationship with him, or maybe it's the more personal, dare say, unofficial romantic relationship forming between the two of you, but it feels like an achievement, and something to be proud of. You want to see the faces of your classmates when they see his growth with control.
You're not let down when you see their reactions. But that sort of comes crashing down, much like Deku himself, who slips, and ends up losing. Accidents happen?
You win your race with ease, of course. Sometimes you're slightly bothered by the fact that you're overpowered. Sometimes, though, you take great pride in it. Now is a time that you feel the latter rather than the former.
HEY SO IM SORRY ITS BEEN A HOT SEC-
hhhhhh bold + italics seems so extra fhfhjdbcjdjssj
Better. Much, much better. Anyways, I know this chapter was short, but I just felt really bad for not updating in so long. I hope this will suffice until I can rewatch the episodes that cover this part of the story... to be honest, I've lost most interest in my hero academia. I don't find any of the characters attractive anymore and I find the story boring. It might be because I've seen it too much, or it might be because I'm looking at it as an outsider, when I can process it without emotion clouding my thought. I don't know, but regardless, it's not an interest of mine anymore, and honestly? It hasn't been for a while
Still, I wanna try to continue this story. I know it's not good to push yourself because you get burned out, but I'm also a people pleaser, and I keep getting notifications of people adding this to their reading lists, so... there's a lot of people to please. I will happily accept requests/suggestions/assistance with the story, but please don't get upset if I say no to a suggestion. Asking for help is not the same as asking for someone else to take full control, so do not mistake it as such
Sorry for getting slightly serious~ definitely not my style lmfao
Oh and in case you're at all concerned, this is most definitely not the last we'll be seeing of Monarch. I love him too much to give him so little screen (page?) time
Side note everyone should go binge arctic monkeys, right now, and don't stop until you've heard all of their songs. Mother mother and mitski too
anywaysssss bye loves!
