The final days of school pass by quickly, until the day of the sports festival rolls around. However, on your way to school, your quirk starts acting up, and on your way to school, when bumping into a little kid, probably just barely old enough to walk on his own, you trade a quirk for his.
And that quirk happens to be one of your most useful ones: Aizawa's.
Lucky for you, the kid likely hadn't developed his quirk yet, so no one would notice a difference in his life.
Unlucky, because of all the quirks having such a negative effect on your body, you haven't been taking any new quirks anymore. So getting back Erasure is out of the question. You start to question how you completely traded quirks so fast, and without any repercussions, but burns it off when you get to U.A.
When you get inside, you tell your father, who is wrapped in bandages, about the incident. He sighs, asking why you don't just take his quirk again. You hesitantly lie by telling him it's getting uncomfortable and a little chaotic in your mind with so many quirks.
Seeing as he has no idea what your main quirk is like, he doesn't pry.
You go to the place you were probably supposed to already be, meeting your friends with smiles. "Oh good, I was worried you wouldn't show up," a few people make small comments like that, to which you reply, "Haha, I'm fine, just had to go do something."
Waiting to be introduced to the world, you all chat in small groups. However, everyone goes silent when a certain split-haired boy challenges Deku. You stay quiet, but it really hits that you have to fight your friends.
Finally, all of the first year classes go out and are presented on a silver platter to the rest of the population. (Like how I worded that? I do)
All of the classes are introduced quickly, when Midnight, a teacher and your friend -because of Aizawa, like many other of your friends- calls you up as the representative. You panic a little, forgetting that it was you that got first on the entrance exams.
Nervously, you walk up to the stage and hear a small conversation. "Oh yeah, she did get top score on the entrance exam, didn't she..?" "Only for the hero course exam..."
Even more nervous due to the students from other courses talking about you, you find your mind blank. "Uhm, uh..." You sigh and shake your head. "I know I'm only gonna say something cringe, so..." you turn to Midnight, but still speak into the mic. "Could the person with the next highest score say something instead?"
She nods and calls up Katsuki while you walk off the stage, which your eyes widen at. Him being "selected" triggers even more murmurs and whispers among the students. "I just wanna say that I'm gonna win."
Some of the students from your class argue with him about being rude, while the other students boo at him. You notice Deku completely silent, however, while staring at Katsuki. He walks off the stage, Deku's eyes still following him.
He didn't laugh while saying that... he was dead serious. He really is trying his hardest...
You smile to yourself, just a little, looking at the ground. You feel eyes on you, and look up to see Shoto, realizing your lack of interaction with him after the first party, and a bit at the USJ.
Suddenly your eyes meet, and for a second you just stare in awe at him, unsure of why you're so entranced. Blushing, you look away.
Soon enough, the first preliminary round begins.
An obstacle course.
You just float above everyone, keeping pace with Shoto from above. That is, until, the robot one-pointers from the entrance exam show up. Shoto freezes them when they're off balance, but you just try to ignore it and keep going.
You continue to levitate above the other competitors for the next obstacle as well, something similar to a tight rope. You're soon met with the final obstacle, and decide that due to the explosions messing up your in-air balance, it's best to be on the ground.
You use One For All and jump around quickly, dodging small explosions left and right. Katsuki catches up to you and Shoto, shouting, "Your declaration of war... was to the wrong person!" The boys begin to fight while simultaneously avoiding the mines.
All of a sudden, Deku sets off a huge explosion in the back and flies to the front with you three. It all goes by quickly, but in the end, you land in second place behind Deku, just barely.
You quickly move onto the next round, a cavalry battle. The team you end up on is Shoto's, which Katsuki seems rather pissed off about, though that's kind of normal for him.
The team is you, Shoto, Yaoyorozu, and Iida (it was so hard deciding who to remove, sorry Denki T-T). Shoto's intent when choosing you was because you have so many peoples' quirks and how they work, including weaknesses, and that you could be good at both offense and defense.
(Do I need to put details? Let's just say it goes mostly the same... I just wanna get to the fights..)
Laying in the grass, you sigh with relief when the cavalry battle comes to an end, your team moving onto the next round. In fact, your team finished in first place. Katsuki's and Deku's teams made it as well, with Shinso's team being the four one to pass.
The whole cavalry battle is mostly a blur, but one moment in particular lingers in your mind; when Deku used his quirk to eliminate Shoto's fire. He... controlled it. That isn't all that stands out, however.
You've never seen Shoto use his left side to attack. Not once. And after Deku swiped away his fire, he had a shocked look on his face, like he subconsciously used the flames.
You lift your left hand in front of your eyes, igniting a small fire. Not being the first time you've felt it, when someone's gaze is sensed, you know who's it is immediately. Shoto... why is your fire such a delicate topic? Why won't you use it?
For a second, you meet his eyes, staring into his bi-colored eyes with a million unasked questions. Your attention is quickly taken away by Katsuki, who sits beside you. "Why did you pick Icy Hot over me..."
A small smile takes over your features, thinking it cute how he gets jealous so easily. You sit up and answer, "Just because I didn't choose your team doesn't mean I think any less of you. It's a competition, and I'm aiming to win, so don't get jealous because of something like that."
He nods and places his forehead on your shoulder. Your eyes widen a little at first, but you soon relax and look up at the sky. "Can I... After the sports festival, can I get jealous whenever I want? Will you let me be... possessive... over you... just a little more?"
This time, your eyes widen a lot. What is he talking about? Regardless, you know you should give him a reply. "Jealousy... it can't be helped. It's an emotion, a feeling. Feelings are meant to be felt; they demand to be heard. As for being possessive...." You sigh, but continue.
"I'd rather you didn't feel the need to protect me from other people, unless I ask to be protected, or I truly need it. But... even so..." you begin to trail off. Even so, I think you defending me...
Would be indirectly protecting you as well.
"You can be overprotective... just... don't feel like every other person is a threat to our relationship. I care about you, and that won't change so easily." You turn your whole body to face him, though it requires him to pick up his head. "I'll protect you as well. Just as long as you stay by my side."
He stares at you in awe, followed shortly by moving closer and sliding his arms around you. "If I have to wait until after all this... I'm fine with that. Just... don't leave my side before that."
You nod, and by now, people have started to go to the cafeteria for lunch. Except, Shoto pulls aside you and Deku.
