Long Wait

(TOTALLY RANDOM BUT I had a dream last night that monoma was actually my ex and it was like, completely normal and all of my other friends were there too XD it was just as weird as all my other dreams, and somehow him being in it wasn't the weird part. Also, the night before that, I had a dream where I met -and kinda fell in love with- basically real-life bakugo. Even longer before that, I dreamed I had shinsos quirk and was friends with him, close friends. I have great dreams XD)

"So~ y/n, I saw you were really close to Todoroki and Bakugo," Mina is the first to begin the inevitable torment. "Ugh.." You find a pillow and cover your face, slightly wishing you would pass out from lack of air so they can't ask anything.

However, they don't accept that, and rip the pillow away. "Fine... what is it that you're just dying to know?" you ask flatly. "You always give in so quickly when it's us! Hehe," Toru says, laughing. You look at her, and say, "You better not take advantage of that... oh wait, that's what you're doing right now. Just because we're friends doesn't mean I'll tell you everything."

You can't see her, but you can tell she's pouting. They proceed to ask about anything and everything regarding the boys, and you start to wish you hadn't met up with them in the first place.

You give answers that are just detailed enough that the girls accept your replies. After what feels like hours, it begins to get late and most everyone starts feeling tired.

Except for you.

You stay on the couch and watch tv with the others that are still awake, until eventually they fall asleep as well. Bored out of your mind and not able to fall asleep, you open up your phone and text Katsuki.

Y/n: hey, you up?

Katsuki: yeah, why

Y/n: can't sleep, everyone else is asleep tho

Katsuki: ft?

Y/n: yeah, lemme get my headphones so I don't wake them

Katsuki: k

You get your headphones and hurriedly untangle them (bc we stan a broke queen who don't got AirPods and can't even get them bc cOrOnAvIrUs). You plug them in and slip the right one snuggly into your ear.

Y/n: you can call now

The small words Read at 12:37 am appear for a short moment before a FaceTime request takes over your screen. You quickly accept and smile when you see his face. He smiles back a little, but remains silent.

You say quietly, "Hey... is it bad that I already miss you after only a few hours?"

He smirks, and responds with, "No, I'm just that great." You roll your eyes and laugh. "It's funny how it started out with the girls having a no-boys party and now... we've thrown all that away. Haha."

He agrees, and you talk for a while about anything and everything that comes to mind, until you feel your phone vibrate, letting you know you have low battery. Checking the time, you see the numbers 3:57 at the top of your screen.

"Jeez, it's already four... should we sleep?" you ask him, now realizing how hard you've been trying to keep your eyes open. You find a portable charger and a charging cord, plugging in your phone but removing the headphones.

You turn your phone down to the lowest volume, which is still decently loud, and wait for his reply. "We can talk until one of us falls asleep, ok?" You think for a second and agree.

You continue to talk, and the conversation is really just sleep-deprived deep thoughts (we all know what I'm talking about... those thoughts are even worse when you're on ft with someone... asking every question about life that there is). 

~Quick Perspective Change~

Y/n and I talk for a while, until she drifts off to sleep. Her peaceful expression sits blankly on my screen, and a wave of calmness washes over me. I smile to myself, and allow my eyes to fall shut.

~Back To Y/n~

You awake with a jolt as Momo shakes you, pulling you out of the bittersweet nothingness and emptiness of sleep. You rub your eyes and remember last night; talking for  hours with Katsuki, falling sleep, a dream -which you can't quite remember. 

You look at your phone next to you, and find it somehow not dead yet, greeted by Katsuki's calm face. You smile; seeing him so innocent-looking is a rare but wonderful sight.

You mumble the words, "See you," and end the call. "So how long until the guys are coming over?" you ask the other girls. "A while, but are we just gonna ignore the fact that you were on FaceTime with Bakugo and he looked calm?" Mina ask you, excited and mildly aggressively.

"Yeah, we are," you respond with a small smirk. "What time did the call start, who fell asleep first, you gotta tell us this stuff while the guys aren't here yet!" Hagakure adds to the argument, with Mina nodding aggressively.

"Fine. We started the call around 12:30 and I fell asleep first. And if you're wondering, we went to sleep at some point after four," you answer, a bit annoyed with yourself that you always give them answers.

Ochaco joins the conversation with, "You guys are really cute together!" You blush a little at her words, so you change the topic. "Ok, so, what are we gonna do while we wait?"

Everyone talks about this for a few minutes and decides to watch random movies that not one person in the world knows about. Of course, the first movie is one that you know.

"Oh my god, I used to love this movie! Not many people I've met have even heard of it..." The movie selected is The Secret Of Kells an animated movie set around the year 800 AD. The art is simple but still beautiful, and the music goes perfectly with the storyline.

(Ok so this is just me being obsessed with this movie, I watched it again for the first time in liiikkeeee, 4 years maybe? Idk, it had been a while, but I still love it. It's on amazon prime -except it's not prime, you have to buy it- and youtube, and it's pretty cheap. And all of it is based off of stuff that really happened, shown through books -the book of Kells- and poems -pangur ban-, but the rest is just general stuff, like Vikings attacking and raiding)

As usual, no one else has even heard of it. You sigh to yourself and just watch the movie. 

This is gonna be a long wait...
