You see those girls dressed up like Barbie dolls
Those boys who need to be stronger than they are
Controlled by media
Or the need for approval
But I'm not like them-That's a lie
We are all the same
We're only looking in a mirror of different faces
He/she/they
We/you/us
Just want to feel beautiful
BeautifulI may not wear those dresses-
Or hold pom-poms in my hand
But I lace up my boots and dream of the day
I will be allowed to wear lipstick the same color as my hair-
Dyed to every color under the sunI just want to learn to look in the mirror
We are all the same
We're only looking in a mirror of different faces
He/she/they
We/you/us
Just want to feel beautiful
BeautifulWe all hate the media
It rules over us
So why does it exist?
Regardless of gender there are people dying of starvation-
Done by their own handWe are all the same
We're only looking in a mirror of different faces
He/she/they
We/you/us
Just want to feel beautiful
Beautiful
