chapter 5.

1 hour earlier, jay's pov.

mal, evie and i made it to the isle for carlos. the blue haired girl broke off and went to see if dizzy has any clue where he is while mal and i are searching the docks.

i went to turn a corner but stopped when i spotted white locks poking out a few alleys away. i walked towards it not knowing what i would find.

i soon saw it was carlos! and harry.. being abit to close..?

"carlos?" i spoke, pulling the youngers attention away from the pirate.

"jay?" he sounded scared.

he turned fully to face me with harry placing a protective hand on his waist.

"jay! did you find.." mal cut herself off when she saw harry's hands on her brother, "get your dirty hands off him!" she yelled, storming forward before i stopped her, "what are you doing?!" she stumbled before i whispered in her ear, "they were all over each other.." and mal's expression completely changed.

the four stood there awkwardly as nobody knew what to do. the purple haired girl seemed sick of it though as she carefully spoke, "carlos, we've come to bring you back."

"why only now?" he forced out.

"what?"

"why did you only just come to the isle to look for me now and not before you closed the barrier 'temporarily' 10 months ago?" carlos' face washed over with hurt and betrayal.

"we had to protect auradon.." mal said.

"you both knew how weak i was and yet you left me here for 10 months to fight on my own. 10 MONTHS. 10 months you were going to leave me with uma and her pirates! you promised you would be back but noooo! don't worry about carlos i just needed to save your king beast!" the younger yelled, tears brimming at his eyes.

i tried to speak, "carlos, we tried-"

"no you'd didn't jay! for fucks sake you and mal can get over here easily without worry! so don't give me that shit!" my chest was heavy as he looked at both of us.

i hung my head disappointed in myself as mal looked at him with sorrow in her eyes.

"whatever." he mumbled before turning away and walking the opposite direction.

"carlos please." mal begged but he kept walking.

"yer were doing nothing for 10 months and yer didn't even try and come?" harry stepped in and looked at the us disgusted.

mal looked down.

"some family." he scoffed, walking away to chase after carlos.

mal's pov.

i fell to the ground and just started crying, jay rushing to my side.

"hey guys!- oh my gosh what happened?!" evie said rushing to my side and hugging me.

jay explained the whole to her in detail and evie let out a deep sigh before quickly trying to fix the problem, "well why are we still here? we should be going after him to." evie said helping me up slowly.

"'maybe we should let him be.." jay mumbled.

"i need my brother back. let's go." i wiped my face and angrily started walking the direction he went.

jay hung behind me as he asked evie carefully, "did dizzy say anything specific we should know?"

"oh, yeah! she said that uh.. ahah, you know never mind." she laughed nervously, avoiding answering.

"evie.." i said carefully trying to get the truth out of her.

"harryandcarlosaredating!" she said quickly before covering her mouth with her hands.

"WHAT?!" jay and i shouted at the exact same time, stopping in our tracks.

"oh i don't think s-" i started even more riled up. evie put her finger her over her mouth and pointed at the alley next to the chip shop.

we saw carlos sitting on harry's lap. i could see jay getting angrier by the second i grabbed his arm and pulled him to the wall so we could listen to what they were saying.

"they can't physically drag yer away." harry said.

"but they can, they are so much stronger than me, and knowing mal she will just get ben to get some guards to get me, she will do anything to get me away now.." carlos sighed.

"mhm, but they'll have to get through the crew and me first. i'm not letting them take yer without a fight." he stated.

i dragged evie and jay away from them so we could talk, "well? what are supposed to do?" i crossed my arms, "we can't just leave him here!"

"kidnap him?"

"talk him out of it?" jay and evie spoke at the same time.

evie looked at the boy who only shrugged his shoulders before crossing her arms, "guys, do you want to break his heart?" she said.

"i'm pretty sure we've already done that." i mumbled.

"if you do that, im not helping." evie scoffed.

"hm." i thought about it to myself, "it might not be that bad."

"are you actually serious right now?" evie looked at me, eyebrow furrowed.

"yes?" i questioned, looking at jay for confirmation who look just as uneasy.

"guys just because we're on the isle doesn't mean we go back to our old selves!" she threw her arms in the air.

"we tried talking to him, he didn't want one bit of it!" i shouted back to her.

"if you guys go through with this, i'm going to be really
disappointed.." evie looked at us sadly and walked away.

"evie!" i shouted after her, she didn't look back.

"well, we just have to do it now.." jay mumbled and i sighed as i realised he was right.
