chapter 16.

time skip to after grabbing hades' ember, carlos pov.

walking out of the isle, mal's body was zapped as she held the blue glowing ember in her hand.

"that thing packs a punch huh?" i held her arm where she was zapped making her laugh.

suddenly there was a loud noise behind us making us jump and turn around only to see harry and gil shocked they past the barrier.

harry made eye contact with me for a second before turning away, "hey guys! we're just coming for a wee visit!" he said as the pirates laughed trying to push past the group, the ember got pushed out of mal's hand by harry's hook, "no!"

then a tentacle jumped out of the water, catching the ember in it's palm as uma rose out of the water, "drop something?" she smirked.

"it can't get wet! give it back before it goes out!" mal shouted, scared.

"uma?" the pirates looks shocked and confused at the same time.

"that's my name." she giggles and waved.

before we knew it she created a giant water tornado and disappeared before our eyes.

"hi boys." was heard from behind us.

harry looked very please to see his first mate again, waking up to her as she grabbed his hook, "welcome back!" he laughed.

"uma, you swam off and forgot all about us." gil said.

"yeah planning a revenge no doubt." mal scoffed.

"it's not all about you mal!"

the two continued they're bantering as i watched from the side, "uma, i need that to break a spell." mal demanded with her hand out.

"cast by audrey, sleeping beauty's daughter." i added.

"mm, so the good guy is the bad guy?" uma sassed with a giggle, "also, how did you get out, mutt. if i remember correctly my first mate had one job." she scoffed and turned to face harry.

"that was ages ago, uma, you've been gone almost 11 months." gil said sadly behind her.

"did i tell you when to let him go? no! exactly!" she shouted in their faces, "i guess they did come back for you then."

"took them long enough." i scoffed under my breath, uma caught what said and laughed loudly, "well, i hope harry had you going through hell like you deserved. but this ember. i might not give it back, let's see what happens."

harry and i exchanged a look in there somewhere, myself extremely pissed off as harry looked almost as angry.

uma held the ember in her jacket as she made mal promise to get the vks off the isle, standing face to face.

"here's a thought! we could all try to be friends!" evie stepped in, "yeah?"

"everyone's asleep, the signal's out." as the crew separated, harry came up behind me.

"what." i grumbled, trying to get some sort of a signal.

"don't what me, mutt."

"oh, so we're back to 'mutt' now are we, hook?" i sassed, turning around to face him.

harry gave a pained look as he stood less than a foot away from me, "mal, getting to yer?" he said quietly.

"no. just wondering why you're acting like i'm not here." i muttered.

"me first mate's back, pup. how do yer think she'll react when i tell her i've been sleeping with the enemy?" his eyebrows furrowed.

"'sleeping with'? so that's all it was for you? just something to get your dick wet? you break up with me what- four days ago? and now you've changed completely. i guess that's on me for thinking you actually loved me, but you're just another pirate, harry." i wasn't controlling what i was saying, it all just built up and came out.

i stood there for a second, watching as his face couldn't figure out how to react, "hm." he mumbled, taking a small step back, "if that's how yer think then." he muttered, his head tilted to the side.

i watched him walk away and it took everything in me not to break down before i felt a hand on my shoulder, "you alright, man?" jay said.

"fine. what's the plan?"

i was ready for this to be over.
