chapter 18.

carlos' pov.

we made it up to evie's castle as mal ran out the doors and hugged ben tightly and the rest of the crew ran up to greet their other member.

i hung back with jane as i watched harry and uma, his hand on the bag of her head and smiles across they're faces.

"jane, i'm so sorry for everything." i said.

"don't be. it's not your fault you got kidnapped." she smiled at him softly and he regretted everything he ever did to her.

jane, gil and doug went to go find fairy godmother as we headed to fairy cottage.

barging through the door we found the cottage empty as jay ran upstairs.

"what the fuck!" mal shouted in stress.

suddenly the closet door began banging, ben quickly looked inside before opening the door to a distress chad, rocking back and forth.

ben bent down the grab him, "chad?"

"i want my mommy." chad mumbled, flinching when ben tried to help him before giving in and being pulled to his feet.

"what happened buddy?" ben asked before chad started looking around the place, realising audrey wasn't there he stood up straight, and again realised who was helping him, "ben? BEN! she's gone huh? freedom! FREEDOM!" he screamed before running out the door sending the group into small chuckles as they couldn't help but laugh.

"alright let's get this audrey chick taken care of already." uma laughed.

"you know, one day you're gonna have to tell me how you guys all got teamed up." ben smiled.

"actually, mal promised to let all the vks of the isle when we're done."

"even uma and harry?" ben pointed as evie nodded.

the group chatted for a second as harry turned to me, "we're getting off the isle, pup. gimme a second chance, please.." he whispered.

"sounds like a good idea but i deserve a well written explanation." i smirked at him making him wrapping his arms around me excitedly, i hugged him tight as his face sat in my neck, small kisses being pressed there, something i found harry does when he's happy or excited. i suddenly just felt my body revive itself, like it knew where i belonged.

"i have to tell you guys something." mal announced to the group, "um, i lied to you." she struggled.

harry pulled out of my neck as he heard and looked at me worried.

"this kids won't be coming off the isle."

fucking hell.

"what do you mean?"

"the program is shut down and the barrier will be closed for good." she pushed out, "for auradon's safety." ben added.

i stepped back from harry as evie and i looked at eachother, tears threatening to slip from our eyes.

"i knew it was a mistake to trust you." uma said disappointingly.

"and you king ben eh?!" harry shouted, his hook poking in ben's face, "you're probably just gonna throw us all back inside." he choked out, i slowly reached for his hand and he walked back over to me.

"i'm sorry, love." he mumbled, sneaking something into my hand before walking over to uma and leaving with her.

watching as mal pleaded to evie, i stood there feeling nothing, looking down in my hand, the necklace evie made.

"i did it for us!"

"i thought you were gonna stand up for the vks, but instead you lied to them." she was on the verge of crying.

"and you lied to jay."

"and you lied to carlos."

"and you lied to me!"

"we're you're family!"

"i had no choice!" mal yelled as a zap of audrey's magic turned us all to stone.

harry's pov.

uma and i walked away. "i actually cannot believe i let myself fall for her fucking shit!" she yelled.

"i actually had hope for once in my life." i mumbled.

"harry, i know you wished everything would work for you and carlos but this is the reality." uma said sadly to me, "evie told me everything."

"love from the isle doesn't work." i said, "i know that."

"uma!" that annoying voice, "we have a chance if we do this together!" she shouted running infront of us.

"you're friends kick you to the curb? good." uma coughed.

"more like turned to stone," she muttered making my heart stop for a second, "ben saw something in you, uma, and carlos sees everything in you, harry, and today i saw it too! you care! you care about everybody and auradon is worth saving!"

"what the fuck do ya mean turned tae stone? mal how could yet let that happen?!" i barked making the girl take a step back.

"help us, please." she pleaded.

i looked between the two, "yer talk pretty, but yer expect everyone to drop everything to help yer and then give nothing in return, uma's already made up her mind."

"you brought this on yourself, mal, you figure out how to fix it." she said before walking off with me following her.
