chapter 10.

carlos' pov.

we were walking back to the limo when i felt arms wrap around my waist and pull me into a nearby alleyway, i turned around to see who it was, and my eyes almost fell out of my head, "long time nay see!" harry said, i pulled him into a hug and we just stayed like that for a few seconds until he pulled away and connected our lips.

god i had missed this.

his arms wrapped around my waist pulling me closer as my arms stretched around his neck. he pulled away and rest our foreheads together as i was trying not to get emotional, "oh, love." he whispered making me smile.

our heads turned when we heard what sounded like mal, calling out for me. harry pulled me into one last kiss.

"i'll have to miss you all over again" i whispered close to his face.

harry gave him a sad look, "i love yer, pup."

i left his grip, not after one last hug, of course, and snuck over to the limo before mal could see me.

"where'd you go?" jay said raising and eyebrow.

"i got lost." i said trying to lie.

"mmm, sure.." jay said smirking.

"carlos! there you are!" mal came jogging over to me, "where did you go?"

i didn't say anything, only shrugged my shoulders before hoping in the back of the limo while jay got in the driver's seat and mal got in after me.

back at auradon we all got out of the limo, ben left to go to a meeting, jay went to meet lonnie somewhere, evie went to hang out with doug and take the vks to her castle, which just left me and mal.

"we need to talk." she demanded.

i sighed, "about what exactly?"

"you ignoring me." she said resting her hand on her hip.

i scoffed, "maybe if you were actually happy for me and didn't kidnap me i would've talked to you."

"carlos." mal said sternly.

i looked her in the eyes, "just because he's you're 'ex' doesn't mean you have to be a bitch mal."

"who told you that?" she was furious now.

i looked away, refusing to look her in the eyes.

"carlos.."

"that doesn't matter mal, what matters is you putting me through hell for a reason i didn't even know! for something you wouldn't tell me!" i yelled.

"harry really changed you..." mal spoke quietly, taking a small step back.

"no, he didn't."

"he did, carlos. what happened to the nice animal loving boy?" mal looked at him concerned.

"he died on the isle the second you all forgot about me!" she looked guilty now that i yelled at her. "you should be happy i didn't die over there!"

"carlos..." she reached out to touch me.

i just did what i do best. i walked away.

mal's pov.

i watched carlos walk off, i was furious. i told jay not to tell anyone about that and now i had to go find him. i walked towards the school and around the back towards the tourney field, i was walking around the bleachers looking behind and in front, when i heard his voice.

"she just won't let him be happy.."

i saw jay and lonnie underneath one of the bleachers towards the left of the field i hid behind the bleacher they were under i looked through the cracks and listened in.

"maybe she still likes harry?" the girl suggested, i felt disgusted at that.

"i doubt it, she can't stand even hearing his name."

"she's really holding a grudge against him.."

"mhm" jay sighed.

"well maybe there's something else she isn't telling anyone? but if carlos is happy with harry, she still has to put up with it." lonnie said.

jay nodded along before the girl placed a kiss on her boyfriend's cheek.

i almost gave myself away, when did they become a thing?!

"it'll be okay, jay."

"you're amazing, lon." jay smiled.

lonnie smacked his arm, "i told you not to call me that." she pouted making jay laugh.

lonnie started to walk out but jay pulled her back into another quick kiss then grabbed her hand, intertwined their fingers and walked out from underneath the bleachers, i quickly hid myself so they wouldn't see me.

i just decided i would talk to him later.

carlos' pov.

after i had walked out on mal i went back to the enchanted lake, it just seems to be my happy place at this point, just sitting down and staring at the water makes me forget alot, it's just so calming.

"carlos? do you wanna go back to the isle with me?"
