I was ignoring Jacob and Edward until my exam was finished on Monday morning. I couldn't let boys, or the supernatural, stop me from getting good grades. I had called Edward on the way back from our study group meeting on Sunday night, "hey edward."

"Hello love are you coming over I can make dinner?"

"No I'm gonna study at my dorm but we'll talk...after my exam." There was silence for a few beats and then a sigh.

"Okay good luck studying you will do well on your exam I know it." Edward sweet as ever and I hung up the phone.

I didn't let anything distract me for the next 18 hours. When I walked out of the classroom after passing my exam to the front I continued to ignore Jacob. Our study group naturally convened outside the lecture hall and Jacob was trying to get my attention. Truthfully I would never be equipped to handle what was to come but still I was ready to listen now. I would have too if not for the man who interrupted my thoughts. "What did you guys get for the last question?" A random student I had never seen before, understandable since it was a 400 person class. I answered him politely. He had gotten something different.

"Oh shoot, well I chose B since it was a covalent bond." I explained my answer and this seemed to spark recognition in him.

"Ah I see I guess I need to study harder for the next exam." Jacob was seething next to me, was he that desperate to talk to me?

"You can join our study group if you'd like?" Amanda offered to the man who excitedly agreed and she pulled out her phone to add him to our group chat. The man's name we found out was James. And just as he left, Jacob looked at me pointedly.

"I'll see you guys." I waved to the rest of them and nudged Jacob to follow me to the library. "Alright explain."

"I can shapeshift into a wolf so can the rest of the tribe, kinda like your boyfriend we share a link the rest of the pack has shared thoughts, the Cullens are part of the many monsters that put Forks in danger, we protect the land. Seattle really isn't our territory but the Cullens followed you here and they have been suspiciously responsible so that's why I'm here to protect you and the rest of the people on campus, also I've wanted to go to University for a while now." I had so many questions which I rattled off until I was satisfied. It was clear that the animosity Jacob held for the Cullens was shared among all of the Quileute.

"Why not just accept that they've changed?" It was nonsensical. I would have thought Jacob would be more progressive but I guess ancient grudges don't go away. I just hoped this one wouldn't break to new mutiny. "Edward hasn't hurt me once, he saved me remember? I'm sure you heard about that it was all over the news." Jacob had not heard about it seemed based off of his reaction. "I'm gonna make you two actually meet and talk."

"Oh there's one more thing-" Jacob started but was cut off by the appearance of Edward. He had somehow found me in the corner of the library, he must have tracked my scent. It seemed the two would be meeting sooner rather than later. In an instance Jacob was standing up poised for a fight in the middle of the library. I stood no chance in breaking up a fight between a 6'5 werewolf and 6 foot vampire.

"Uhm what the hell do you think you're doing?" I sprang to my feet and stood in front of Edward, looking at Jacob incredulously.

"Call it instincts." Edward scoffed behind me and I just collected my stuff quickly.

"I'll call it being an asshole, we'll talk later." I grabbed Edward's hand and led us out of the library.

"How was your exam?" His hand was an anchor, his voice the ship that took me away from the maddening island. He let me lead him back to his apartment just like days before, I wanted to pretend everything was as normal as it was then.

"It went well." Finally I looked him in the eyes as we waited for the light to turn red and let us cross the street. His hair was ruffled so I stood on my tiptoes to comb it back with my fingers, his hand coming to my waist to make sure I didn't stumble. From the outside we might have looked like a normal sickly sweet couple. His eyes were on me as I groomed him to my liking and drew back down.

"I'm glad." The light turned red and the walking signal flashed and we crossed the road hand in hand. I would unload my frustration on Edward when we were in his apartment building, my safe haven. I let him take my bag as he opened the door. It was only 4pm but I wanted to lie in bed, the day had exhausted me. Edward watched me with amusement as I set down my stuff neatly and then jumped onto his bed, wiggling under the covers. He was the responsible one, he made me food to eat. All of a sudden I remembered what Rose had said yesterday.

"Do I smell like a wet dog to you?" Edward laughed in the kitchen, I could see his crooked smile from the bed and it lightened my mood.

"I'm not sure how to answer that. You smell amazing to me but yes after you're with Jacob there's a hint of..."

"Petco?" I just groaned and covered my face with my hands. He abandoned his post and walked to the bed, lying down next to me on top of the covers, and removing my both hands with one of his own.

"I know one way to get rid of it though..." His words trailed off as he leaned up to meet my lips with his. His lips moved down to my scent gland, was this why he was more possessive after lectures? Was he scenting me somehow? I couldn't say I was composing about it as a sigh left my mouth. Maybe I'd have to make more excuses to see Jacob if this was the treatment I'd get after. Edward's lips left my skin for more than a second and my eyes snapped open as I whined, he was teasing me, the fucker. He smirked at my expression before pressing a kiss to my cheek. Then he got up leaving me dejected and flushed, only to go to his closet and throw a shirt at the bed next to me. "Wear my clothes that's how." Tease.

As he returned to cooking I snuck away to his bathroom to change into the shirt and sweatpants he gave me, they smelled like him and I decided I needed to see Jacob daily.
