If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.
HARUKI MURAKAMI
I woke up, confused and the sheets felt too itchy against my skin, what the hell happened? Where was I? Edward's room okay not a bad sign. As if hearing my thoughts he walked through the door with a cup of something in his hand. I sat up and pain shot through my body from my neck down, I groaned as I instinctively touched the spot, two holes.
I panicked as Edward winced. What the hell happened? Had I fainted from blood loss? Did Edward drain me at a frat party?
"I'll explain." He sat down the cup on the bedside table, clearly for me but I was too shocked to hold onto it much less drink it.
EDWARD'S POV
half an hour priorI had arrived to the party late, as my luck would run there were no batman masks nearby so I had to go to the supermarket further into the city. I couldn't run through the city so I had to drive and traffic was a nuisance at this time of day. Everyone else had already arrived at the party, as I snuck into the house I could smell Amelia. People were packed like a can of sardines but I could never lose her scent. I followed it and as I pushed through the crowd her scent grew stronger exponentially, blood. Too much blood, no no no.
I did not hesitate shoving through the crowd, pushing people to the ground even as I was met with the sight of her fainted on the floor and behind an equally unconscious James wearing a batman mask. Her friends were freaking out and I just distracted them as my siblings came hurtling towards me. They must have sensed the commotion as well. Emmett grabbed James making an excuse that he must have drank too much and so must have Amelia, they seemed to somewhat buy the excuse as I cradled her against me and took us outside. Her heartbeat was faint but luckily still there, if we took her to the hospital they would see her bite marks, I hated myself for even having to consider it but the only way I could save her was sucking out the venom from her system.
We had reached my apartment and I placed her onto the bed, Emmett was close behind with James. He would wake up soon and have questions and I would have to decide whether to kill him or make him regret his actions. It would be her decision, she wouldn't want to kill him I know but it would make the pain of seeing her suffer a little easier.
It felt like hours as I listened to her faint heartbeat but after what was really only minutes it began to grow more stable. After some more dreadful minutes she was waking up.
AMELIA'S POV
"Where is he now?" I felt sick to my stomach thinking about his lips on me, his teeth sinking into my skin. I wanted to shower and wash him off of me. How could I have been so stupid? I had almost died due to my stupidity. I had almost lost everything. Lost Edward."The others took him up North to the nearest forest, chained up so he has nowhere to run, it's your call now what we do with him." Edward's jaw was clenched, I reached out my hand towards him. I felt my eyes get wet not of my own accord and his jaw unclenched. "I thought I lost you." His voice a soft whisper into the comfort of his room.
"I can't lose you Edward not now not ever, I'm too selfish." I loved him, maybe I had known that since the day we first talked properly or maybe it was one of the days between but I had never felt surer of something in my entire life.
"I'm starting to think I am too." A smile, maybe being a vampire wouldn't be too bad if I could see that smile every day, forever.
"So I'm immune to vampire venom?" The venom James had injected into my system had done nothing to me besides fainting, but that could have been the blood loss. When Edward bit me, he didn't inject any venom but I felt no different than then, in fact I felt a little better than that time.
