platonic haruouma
idea by Aku_the_kiwi :)
TW: SUICIDE + SELF HARM!
a motive by monokuma where he pairs up people who are completely opposite from each other—angie and tenko, kokichi and maki, kirumi and shuichi, ryoma and kaito, himiko and gonta, etc.
maki gets paired up with kokichi. lets see where this leads to.
takes place after chapter two.

——

it was a common fact that kokichi ouma hated killing; at least, to shuichi. yet, he was screwing with maki like an annoying piece of shit--and she was getting well over fed up.

with one quick motion, her hand was around kokichi's neck. she would probably be able to cover this up--and maybe give kokichi a show while in the afterlife after the fact.

kokichi started frantically squirming, to maki's surprise, digging his nails into her hands, all emotion on his face turned to panic and all color--well, what little he had--drained from his face in pure, unriddled confusion and panic.

"ma- mak-i pl- plea-se-" kokichi's voice was breathless--quite literally, and quick, as if actually panicked. then, he started shaking. "ple- please i do-n't wa- want you to die!" His eyes were wide as maki had finally dropped him, surprise lacing her feminine features.

"...what was that, ouma?" her voice was confused, curious, even, as kokichi swiftly hid under the bed, to get away from maki. he was so small....maki brushed it off. "Answer me, ouma."

"f- fine!" Kokichi's eyes welled with tears. "i fucking thought you died, maki, when you left that note." tears spilt down his face, surprising the female as confusion placing itself on her face. "you left with no warning--there was no sign of you left. i fucking though you died."

maki glared at kokichi, "you're lying. I gave..." her eyes widened. "w-"

"yeah, maki, i'm that ouma. you so fucking ignorant, you know. did you even notice how happy i was when i figured out you were still alive when were entered this senseless killing game?"  kokichi glared at her before continuing. "i ranaway from the orphanage after your disappearance due to your note, and i lived on the streets for months till i took you name, stole some money and left."

maki didn't believe ouma. there was no sensible reason for him to know that she gave her little brother that note to leave; they were nothing alike. her kokichi has straight brown hair and one yellow eye, this one had purple hair and eyes. her ouma was sweet and kind; not a lying bastard.

"i fucking tired to kill myself multiple times because of your disappearance."

maki's eyes bolted to kokichi as he spoke, him throwing his scarf to reveal the many scars on his neck. the he rolled up his sleeves, scars littering them with no avail--some newer, even. "did you even consider how much you changed? you were so nice. now you threaten to kill people and are a fucking assassin."

maki looked at kokichi with a shocked face, confused. he couldn't be her ouma. he just- he-

"we both changed, idiot." his voice was hoarse as he finally passed out from exhaustion, worrying maki to the point where she got him and put him on the bed. she was genuinely worried--he was exactly right about everything. could he really be her ouma?

she shook her head, no, he couldn't of been. she got up and left the room, narrowing her eyes in confusion. she refused to believe him- even if he was comepletely...

she sighed as she ran into shuichi, her red eyes glaring at him before realizing who it was. they talked for a moment before maki went back to her room--now completely sure of who kokichi was.

----

she looked at ouma as he slept, waiting patiently for him to wake up, finally accepting that he was her little brother. she sighed, thinking back to what he had said before falling asleep. "we both changed, idiot." the words rung in her ears.

she sighed once more before looking at kokichi, who had finally woke up and was rubbing his eyes. she considered just doing nothing--but instead tapped him. he flinched violently back, worrying the assassin much more than what she had said. even with what she had gone through at the training facility, she never would flinch like that.

she sighed, waiting for kokichi to turn around and say something--anything. "Oh. h- hi, maki." he yawned before maki spoke, quiet.

"ouma i..." it was difficult; but she knew kokichi was her kokichi, through and through. "i'm sorry. i- i should've believed you, everything...it all lined up." she looked embarrassed before she was suddenly hugged by kokichi.

"oh god maki, th- thank you. please- i-" maki sighed before hugging ouma back, pulling him up onto the bed.

"its fine, ouma, please." she sighed before kokichi smiled widely.
