Sunday. 6:00 am.

Dear Aunt Jolie,

I know that I've never met you, but I feel like I have by staying in your room sometimes. I hope you're okay with that, by the way. I know that you kept a journal with information on the Black Swan, so I thought I should, too. It's not about the Black Swan, it's about Pack Valiant. Here, I'll explain. The Neverseen are still not beat, even though our parents have been trying for a long time. My friends and I wanted to help our parents, so we created Pack Valiant. A (currently secret) group that will defeat the Neverseen once and for all. At least, that's the idea. I don't know if we can beat them. There's hope, but also defeat. I guess we'll just do our best and see.

Ivy Vacker is designing outfits for us. Woltzer and Ro have agreed to train us. Yeah, they know. We couldn't keep it from them, they wouldn't train us if we didn't.

You're probably wondering why we couldn't just join the Black Swan. I would love to, but our parents forbid it. They want us to be safe, even though in their gut they know we will have to defend ourselves eventually.

I think you were really brave knowing what you did for the Black Swan. I wish I could've met you. But I go to your Wanderling Tree when I can. It's really pretty. The blue flowers look like Grandma Eda's eyes.

Anyway, that's all the information I have now. I'll tell you more later. Goodbye.

Your niece,

Ellie Sencen

I close the pages of the small yellow notebook and hide it in a small corner of the wall. It's where Aunt Jolie hid her secret journal, and now where I hide mine. I open the plain white door and step out of the misty purple room. No one's awake yet. It's quiet. I tip-toe downstairs and open the front door. It creaks. I stop - still quiet. I step outside and close the door behind me. The world is so peaceful when everyone is asleep. Sure, the elves may rule the day, but the animals rule the night. I walk around the area, looking at all the animals. Peaceful earth, two words to describe this morning and every morning. Wynn comes up to me and nudges my hand with his nose. I rub him. I go around to his side and push down slightly. He kneels to the ground. I sit on his back and he stands up. I've done this multiple times. He knows what the slight push means since I've been doing it for a year now, but he won't move. He just stands. I tried nudging him with my leg, telling him to walk, but he doesn't understand. If only I were a telepath. So I just sit there. After an hour to myself, I slip into the house, go up to my room, and close my door. Like it never happened. Peaceful Earth.
