Marlie woke up to the sound of her alarm once again at 7:00 am. She rolled over in her bed looking out the window as the sun rose.

Marlie wore plaid pants, her dr martens, and a black crop top. Paired with her favorite necklace and some earrings.

She wore her hair long and curly and threw on some light makeup

She wore her hair long and curly and threw on some light makeup.

Marlie walked downstairs and saw her mother and father drinking coffee on the couch.

"Goodmorning sweetheart" Mrs. Loverich said

"Morning mama, morning dad" She said hugging both her parents.

Marlies family had a very close knit relationship, especially after Katherines death.

"I set your skateboard outside, It was getting dirt on the floor" Her mother said.

"Thanks mom" Marlie said smiling.

Marlie heard a knock on the front door

"Uh i'll get it?" She looked at her parents confused as they weren't expecting any guests.

Outside the door stood Luke. Standing with a plate in his hands and his cutoff hoodie sitting on his shoulders.

"Oh Luke?" Marlie said with confusion

"Marlie? I didn't know you lived here" The boy said laughing

"Can I help you?" Marlies mom said looking at the boy.

"Oh yes, hello. My name is Luke Patterson, uh my family and I are your neighbors. My mom wanted me to bring these by" Luke said nervously handing Marlies mother a pan of cinnamon rolls.

"Why thank you! Tell your mother thank you" Mrs. Loverich said.

"I guess I didn't put two and two together, never realized you were my neighbor" Luke said smiling at Marlie.

"I guess so, thank you for the cinnamon rolls, very sweet of your mom" Marlie said smiling at the boy.

Luke noticed how genuinely sweet the girl was, her eyes sparkled as she thanked him. He stood there admiring her.

"Y-yeah no problem, see you at school then?" Luke said scratching the back of his head.

"See ya" Marlie said closing the door.

She didn't understand why she kept running into these boys.

Marlies mother set the pan down on the table as the sent of the fresh cinnamon rolls filled the dining room.
