Since I love you guys with all of my heart, HERE'S ANOTHER UPDATE! :)

*****

“Alright Dad, take it easy.” I said to him. He poked my side with one of his crutches. “Whatever you say, Riley.” It had been a week since Dad’s accident, and he was finally coming home. His side was still really sore, so he had to use crutches to get around.

“Welcome home!” Dad was stunned when he opened the door. All of his co-workers and friends were there, including some of mine. Everyone came to greet him all at once, almost knocking him over. Mom stood shyly in the kitchen, watching from a distance. “Thanks everybody!” Dad said as he received hugs and handshakes from his visitors. I placed all of his “Get Well Soon” cards and his numerous amount of stuffed animals aside, going over to see my friends. “Your Dad so looks like Tom Cruise.” Callie gushed. I rolled my eyes. “I’m just so glad that your Dad is doing well.” Daphney said. I hugged them both. “I know. The doctor says he’s healing nicely.”

“Riles!” I turned, seeing Chris and his huge grin. He gave me a bear hug, squeezing the air from my lungs. “Ouch.” I muttered. He said hello to both Daphney and Callie. They couldn’t reply, being too busy with the drool dribbling down their chins. Chris had visited my Dad almost every day in the hospital with Colson, my Mom and I. Chris and Colson weren’t exactly on speaking terms, but they could sit in a room together without arguing. I’d take that over nothing. “What’s up?” I asked him. He seemed pretty happy. “Oh, nothing at all, except for I have two amazing tickets to the premiere of ‘Planet Five’!”

I laughed at his dorky statement. “You have tickets?! That movie doesn’t come out until next month!” I squealed. “Well, the director gave a very important gentleman two tickets to a showing tomorrow.” He pointed to himself enthusiastically. “Well who’s the special amigo that gets to go with you?” I wondered playfully. I had heard that he had been seeing Rihanna again. They were an adorable couple. “Actually, I was thinking that you could be that amigo and come with me.” Chris said casually. Callie and Daphney listened to our conversation silently.

“I wish I could, but I have plans with Colson tomorrow.” I told him. He sighed, slightly disappointed. “Where is Colson anyway?” He asked begrudgingly. A small smile formed on my face. “He’s at the airport picking up his daughter.” Callie and Dee both smiled also. They wanted to meet Casie as much as I did. “Well, I guess I’ll see you later.” Chris walked away from our small circle. “Enjoy the party!” I called after him. “When is Casie getting here?” Callista asked me. I shrugged. “I’m not exactly sure. But he said he would come over with her later. So you know what that means…” I trailed off with a laugh. “Sleep over!” We screamed simultaneously. My Blackberry started to vibrate in my back pocket. I pulled it out, recognizing Colson’s photo icon that filled the screen every time he called.

“Yo,” He said. “Hey! Do you have Casie?” I asked impatiently. He chuckled. “Yeah, I got the little princess in the back seat. She’s fast asleep though. I’m gonna drop by my hotel room and then head over there.” I gave a thumbs up to the girls, who danced in reply. “Okay, see you later.” I responded. “Bye babe.” He began to make sloppy kissing noises through the phone before hanging up.

I looked around the condo. Mom and Dad chatted casually in the living room. She had helped him support his back with a few pillows. They flirted shamelessly, causing my eyes to roll. But I was so happy that they were getting along. Who knew what the future held? Maybe we could all move out here to Malibu. The weather was great and the beaches were beautiful. Summer would end in about a week, and I didn’t want to start college back in Colorado. But that was too much to think about right now. I spotted Dex in the kitchen, fixing himself some punch. I practically sprinted towards him. “Where’s the fire Riles?” He asked me, almost dropping his cup. “There isn’t any fire, Dex! I just haven’t seen my bud in about a week!” I gave him a lame punch in the arm. He gave me a knowing look, handing over his punch. “Thanks!” I said cheekily. “I’m starting to think you don’t even love me anymore.” Dex pouted. I took a sip of the drink thoughtfully. “You’re right.” I joked, walking away.
