The promised second update is here! It's short, but VERY awesome. Guaranteed. Finally Riley's dreams come true! Oops! spoiler :D ENJOYYYY!

I woke up with an unknown smile on my face. Daphney had got into my bed in the middle of the night. Her drooling face was turned towards me. I snickered, getting up. I turned the TV off and walked into the kitchen. Mom and Dad sat at the island with coffee and the newspaper. They discussed politics, but discussing anything was an improvement from the awkward silences yesterday.
Dad spotted me first, tousling my messy locks. My bun had fallen out during the night. I swatted his hand away playfully and took a seat by Mom. "Good morning, Riley." They both said in harmony. Mom smiled. "By your bed hair, I'm guessing you slept well." She joked. I took her coffee, taking a sip.
"Yes I did actually." I winced at the taste of the black coffee. "Yuck." I got up to fix my own. One cream, three sugars. Last night came flooding back to me as I scooped the sugar. I blushed as I thought of Colson. I could still smell his cologne in my hair.
"Good morning, guys!" Daphney said as she stumbled into the kitchen in her kitty pj's. Her short hair stood up everywhere on her head. I handed her my coffee, knowing we liked it the same way.
"Thanks." She said before gulping it down, not caring that it was scorching hot. I noticed Dad was in a business suit. "Where you going, Dad?" I asked while eyeing his attire. "I have a meeting at the Davey Mills studio. Actually, we all do. Riley, they saw your video at the Benefit, and another one of you performing at some park. They want to offer you a recording deal!" He said.
I dropped my empty cup. It clattered on the kitchen tile. I could not believe what I just heard. "Me?" I squeaked, looking over at my parents. They nodded enthusiastically. Daphney danced around the house, screaming "My best friend's a superstar!" over and over.
"We need to be there at nine. Do you think you could be ready in about an hour?" Dad asked me. I opened and closed my mouth repeatedly as I tried to form words, looking like a fish out of water. I finally settled with a nod.
"Great. Now go get dressed! And bring your guitar. They want to hear you sing." Mom said. Daphney pushed me into the room. I still couldn't produce a single word as Daphney and I searched my closet for an outfit. We both agreed on a beautiful summer dress that stopped at my knees.
Daphney did my hair when I got out of the shower. She put in a little mousse, saying that my waves would be perfect with the dress. "Thanks, Dee." I croaked. "Don't thank me. Just blow their socks off and don't forget about the little people." She smiled. I snorted.
"That's if they even like me." I said, pulling on my favorite wedges. I looked longingly at Colson's cap on my dresser, wishing I could wear it. It gave me comfort and confidence, and I really needed that right now.
But I couldn't bring it. Daphney brought me into the living room where my parents patiently waited. Mom was dressed in a fancy pantsuit. "You ready?" Dad asked. I nodded. Daphney handed me my guitar case. "Go get 'em." She said.
We got into the car and before I knew it, we were in front of the skyscraper-like building. Mom and I got out while Dad circled around to park the truck.
We walked up to the familiar front desk. Instead of the woman from my visit with Colson, A different receptionist sat behind it. Her nameplate read "Genna". She looked up as we approached. "We have a nine-o'clock meeting. Dimitrova." Mom told the lady. She nodded. "Tenth floor, room one-oh-four." She said before going back to her computer.
We followed her instructions and went to the tenth floor. Room 104 was the first door to the left. I hesistantly knocked. The elevator doors "ding"-ed and Dad stepped out. He walked over to us just as the room's double doors opened.
Holding the handle was the one and only, Davey Mills. He was very tan for a Californian and slightly balding. His tailored suit was creased to perfection. He gave us all a blinding smile. "Welcome! Come inside!" He said cheerfully.
A long table filled the room. Chairs were all around it. A few men filled them. They watched as we came inside. I was told to stand in front of the table. My parents took seats next to each other beside Davey.
"So Riley Dimitrova, is it?" Davey asked. I nodded. "We all have seen your videos. And I gotta say, you are incredible. Your performance in the park was really... awesome! We want to offer you a deal, Riley, with us." I had to do everything in my power not to cry uncontrollably. I was just so happy. People dream to be in the position I was in at this very moment.
"We would like you to perform a song for us. Do you know what you want to sing?" I smiled, nodding. I felt like I was on American Idol. "I'm going to sing Dreaming With A Broken Heart, by John Mayer. " I said to him. He grinned in approval. I looked over to my parents, seeing my Mom tearing up.
I strummed the first chords of the song and sung.
"When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The waking up is the hardest part
You roll outta bed and down on your knees
And for a moment, you can hardly breathe
Wondering was she really here?
Is she standing in my room?
No, she's not 'cause she's gone
Gone, gone, gone, gone
When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The giving up is the hardest part
She takes you in with her crying eyes
Then all at once, you have to say goodbye
Wondering could you stay, my love?
Will you wake up by my side?
No, she can't 'cause she's gone
Gone, gone, gone, gone
Now do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
And do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my
Roses in my hand?
And would you get them if I did?
No, you won't 'cause you're gone
Gone, gone, gone, gone
When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The waking up is the hardest part...."
I trailed off, ending the song. I was answered with a grand applause. Davey paused a moment, looking over at his peers before finally nodding. "Congradulations, Miss Dimitrova. We want you to sign with us."
